Re: Amazon Prime Question....

I'm with the majority here - most of my orders arrive within two days.  One (from an outside vendor) took three days, but everything arrives by the specified "delivery date".

Amazon Prime includes a lot more than just faster shipping though.  My DH takes advantage of the other things, like video streaming and instant downloads.  I don't, but he uses it a lot.

The videos are what make Prime worth it for me.  Amazon has great documentaries, which are my favorite types of shows.

Re: Amazon Prime Question....

Mine all arrive within the two day period, also.

I imagine there is the possibility that if somebody ordered something on Friday pm and it arrived on Tuesday, it could be perceived as 4-5 days.  But it's actually two business days (Friday is day zero, Monday day one, Tuesday day two).

But I wonder if some very rural areas have different perameters because there is less service to some areas (?).

It seems like there is always a very small percentage of people who are not receiving Prime orders in two days and maybe they need to revisit this for certain areas, if it is going that way.

Re: Amazon Prime Question....

I live in an area which gets same-day delivery from Amazon (if ordered in the morning) or next-day delivery (if ordered in the afternoon/evening).  We get deliveries 7 days a week.

Before this, though, I almost always received my orderers within two days.  There were a few exceptions.  Items not inclusws in Prime, obviously, took longer.  Some times, I chose standard shipping so that I could take advantage of an Amazon credit for digital music/video.  Also, some items do ship free with Amazon but take longer to package and ship (e.g. coffee which is roasted in sall batches weekly).

Re: Amazon Prime Question....

The only time I have not received a delivery in 48 hrs, (once) it arrived the following day. I'm just not the sort of person who is going to complain at having something arrive one day past "due" when we're talking (IMO) very fast delivery to start with.

It is 2-day DELIVERY once it's processed, not always 2-day processing and delivery combined. In my experience if it's an Amazon processed/shipped item it arrives in 48 hrs *or less* every time. I don't buy third-party vendor mdse all that often.

I have had several items I've ordered arrive the next day or within 36 hrs. I recently moved to a fairly rural area and though that might make a difference; it hasn't. I ordered something last Friday and was asked if I wanted Sunday delivery - out here in the sticks! So yeah, happy. I also use Prime videos from time to time.

I know sometimes it will tell you on the product page to allow additional time.    Out of my last 20 prime orders only one took longer than 2 days and it was 3 days.

I live in a large metro area and always receive my Amazon orders in two days, often on a Sunday. I do order only things that say "Prime Eligible".  My son enjoys the free videos and I always look forward to the free book download every month.

Re: Amazon Prime Question....

I order from Prime at least once a week, sometimes more.  If my items are shipped by Amazon, I get them in 48 hours or less but if they're vendor shipped, they may take a little longer.

Re: Amazon Prime Question....

I receive my PRIME shipments as advertised. After this week I will be careful with returns. Without my permission my credit went  to a gift account instead of being credited to my credit card. I had a devil of a time today getting that sorted.

Re: Amazon Prime Question....

I try to order prime only.  I've ordered things on Friday and they were promised and came on Sunday.  Other times, I've ordered things on Friday and they were promised and came on Tuesday.  I don't order a lot, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Re: Amazon Prime Question....

Are you sure that you are chosing the 2 day shipping and not the longer shipping? Even though the item may be a Prime item, you still have to choose if you want the 2 day shipping or if you can wait and you get a credit to use on purchase of ebook or video.

When I've chosen the 2 day shipping, I always get my items within 2 days.
