It has been my experience in life that many people who look guilty are not. It has also been my experience that many people who don't look guilty are. Some of the worse mass murderers ever......didn't look or act guilty and many were open and "personable" people. Amanda was far away from home. This boy was her only support system. She was turning to him for support in a way that may seem immature to us but to someone so young and alone at the time, I see her actions with her then boyfriend as quite normal.

I think she had known him for 2 or 3 weeks at the time of the murder.

She told numerous, contradictory stories.

In cases like these only God and the people involved truly know. From the way she acts , however, and the feelings she is expressing....to me....seems consistent with someone who is innocent. The fact that she wants so badly to be proven innocent and wants so badly to have people not think ill of her ....says to me that she has a pretty deep conscious. She may not seem deep on the surface but I tend to think she is pretty deep in her thinking.

Don't know why "the authorities" just won't let it go.

If your daughter were murdered, would you want the authorities to just 'let it go'?

No, but by the same standards, I would not want my daughter tried 2 or 3 times till she was finally proven guilty. It had better be "beyond the shadow of a doubt" and I think it has been so "over tried" now that there is no fair way to bring that about. Too much time has gone by with too much media and too many emotions, IMO. That is why being tried more than once doesn't work.
