Several years ago, my daughter's piano teacher said her insurance company (Aetna) was pulling out of California.  What made it worse for her was that she had breast cancer.

I don't think they're stupid enough to mess with Medicare. Medicaid, needed some paring down.

They try messing with SS and Medicare.............

FYI - The vast majority of people on Medicaid are seniors in nursing homes, the disabled of all ages, and children.

Cutting Medicaid will cause great harm to our most vulnerable seniors - people who have gone through all their money and resources and need skilled care to survive.

@terrier3- you are right and I think anyone who deserves Medicaid should receive it.  But, there are many on Medicaid who abuse it, are able to work and shouldn't be on it.  I have a dear friend, who is a multi millionaire.  His daughter, a relapsing drug addict, who has been sent to the most expensive rehabs is now on Medicaid and we are paying for her comprehensive ineffectual care due to non compliance.  She lives in a house with a pool and mother/daughter wing with her 3 year old.  Daddy buys her food, cares for her child and buys anything they need.  She is on Medicaid and food stamps and gets $ monthly and I guess she buys alcohol and drugs.  Her father gives to charity, pays high taxes but feels he's paid so she deserves the entitlement.  This is just one story and in my State, there are many stories like this.  I don't think anyone wants to hurt the frailest but some people just should not be on Medicaid.  Medicare works, the qualification is one, age....nothing subjective

True wealthy people have always bilked the system or not paid their share at the expense of the poor or disabled. But they are not majority so we shouldn't cut medicaid because of them. They should be weeded out and fined hefty amounts and have their wealth taken from them.

I will lose my health insurance, I don't believe for one minute that my premium and/or deductible will go down. Plus my age will soon work against me. I've only had it for two years through the ACA, the one increase was second year 50 dollars a month. It's a joke on any side to push something like health care through quickly. Those people know nothing about it, and they have gold standard health plans. Wish I could take those away from them. All of them.

It's a disgrace, I'm very upset and angry at the whole thing.

@momtochloe - You're welcome.  I can't bear it when people equate "things" with human beings.

Not being able to afford a "thing" (a car, a new TV, a dress) is one thing.  We can all find a way to do without some material things.  Not being able to afford health insurance is a national scandal.

Thank you. I agree over and over with your posts here. People are not non sentient commodities, just awful that health care is looked at that way by anyone. Especially by anyone in power. What a sad, sad state of affairs. It is a national scandal. But look away, look away..look over there.

I agree 100% and what they are not addressing is the astronomical cost for all the medical procedures regardless of what or who it is. Plus the pharma is making out. While we the females or lowest on the totem pole will be punished for being female.
