Re: A frivolous curiosity....

My dog follows me in to see what I am doing, then sits outside and waits for me. The cat doesn't care where I am as long as she gets her "treat" and her "brushing" every morning.

Re: A frivolous curiosity....

I have two male cats, and one of them almost always has to follow me in to the bathroom to "keep me company".

The young one, will patiently wait in the bathroom as I shower, and when I step out, I must make over him, and pet him. He doesn't care that I'm dripping wet.{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

What the heck? I don't mind the company while I shower. In fact, I think it's kinda cute!{#emotions_dlg.w00t}

Was Yuban, then changed to Plaid Pants due to forum upgrade, and apparently, I'm back to being Yuban.

I'm finding all these stories really cute.... just goes to show, our fur babies love being around us no matter what we're doing. Smile

My cat knows when I get out of bed or off the couch and follows me. She likes jumping into the tub and rolling around on her back. If I go into the kitchen she will nibble on her dry food which is always out. At night she is usually next to me sleeping.

Yes. And it doesn't matter if I'm in the half bath or the full bath. Oh and not only 1 does it but both. There are times I can barely get the door opened back up because there are 3 of us crammed in the half bathroom. {#emotions_dlg.scared}

If I shut the door but it doesn't click shut, neither of them will push it open all the way. They will bump it a little and then there are 4 eyes staring at me and waiting for me to come out.

ETA: My one dog is 85 pounds and the other is 55 pounds. Imagine that in a half bath with me. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Re: A frivolous curiosity....

I used to have 2 cats and 2 dogs. A trip to the bathroom was an invitation to a party. The cats would play in the tub, they get between the shower curtain and liner and attack anything that moved. The dogs were fair game.

Re: A frivolous curiosity....

Due to his age, my 18-yr departed kitty, Sid (my nic!), used to get in a deeeep sleep on my couch. When I would go take a shower 1/2 way through I would hear him meow,meow,meow,meow as if to say, "MOM WHERE THE H*LL ARE YOU?!" Poor little old man...wake up to confusion...kinda kitty dementia. Right? Definitely before then, he would follow me everywhere, as well! =^..^=

Re: A frivolous curiosity....

ROFL. That fits Anika to a tee. She loves to come into the bathroom and sit front and center right in front of me!!! I have to ask her to leave and then she acts offended. She also loves to sleep in the bathroom at night as she seeks the coolest spot in the house. The BR has a cold marble floor and the bedroom is hardwood. If I close the door when I enter the BR she tries to open it, or she will sniff like a mac truck until I open it. She's so funny.

In fact, Anika follows me everywhere. If I'm in the kitchen, living room, bathroom, den, wherever, she's there immediately. But I love her so what can I say. {#emotions_dlg.wub} She's laying by the computer right now. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

Re: A frivolous curiosity....

Reminds me when my daughter was a toddler. She would follow me to the bathroom door and wait outside until I was through. It was a frustrating stage because I felt I couldn't get a moment to myself. On topic, my cat McGyver does try to come into the bathroom with me. He will get up and follow us there if we are in bed and need to use the restroom. His spot is at the foot of our bed at bedtime.

This is so great. I just love them.
