@BlueFinch wrote:@Mz iMac @beckyb1012 I was a Brownie, too. I was so excited to get my Brownie ring, I couildn't wait to show it to my brother, who was 7 years older than me.
I knocked on his bedroom door and he refused to open it. He said" "Just shove it under the door." Stupidly, I did. Then I heard this loud stomping. He shoved it back flat as crepe.
It goes without saying, Brownie's had NO respect ... LOL It took us a decade to reconcile that event. Actually, I still resent him for it.
OMG. When you see him next you need to tell him my second year of Brownies my younger brother of one year was now school age so he was with my Great-Grandmother and I after school each day. We all in my troop called him our Mascot. He did all the crafts with us and went on all the field trips. He had a ball. Now as a middle age man he prefers to have no memory of that time, but I still have black and white photos!!

Daisy scouts are fairly new, they wear a blue tabbard and earn petals of the daisy,
Daisies. Daisy is the initial level of Girl Scouting. Named for Juliette "Daisy" Gordon Low, they are in kindergarten and first grade (around ages 5–7). They meet in minimally groups of five girls with two adult leaders who help the girls plan activities to introduce them to Girl Scouts.

The town I use to live in, had GS & BS parades every year. Brownies were always in the back. My father's comment: "Here comes the runts of the parade." ![]()
"Never argue with a fool. Onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."

Back in the day when I was a scout Brownie was the lowest. But times have changed & now there are Daisy's.

They've gotten too expensive, have been for a while now.
You can purchase national brand flavors, close to the GS brand, year round for less.

@beckyb1012 That's so sweet. Your younger brother was a doll. Probably, though because he was younger, since he wanted to deny it as he got older.
My brother had 7 years on me and didn't want a sister in the first place. He longed for a brother. It's only now that we're both seniors, that we've become closer. But, sadly, you never forget those little, childish things.
Give your brother a hug from me, for being a good little brother. It's left a fond memory for you. It matters.
