2 weeks ago, I purchased a case of Thin Mints from a PA girl scout. In Pa, the price is $4/box.
Today, on my way out the manager of my building asked me to purchase some cookies from her step daughter who is 4 yrs old. I told her no. She's no girl scout. Manager told me no but she is a Daisy Scout. Said it was 1 step below a Brownie Scout.
Joisey is asking $5/box. I ordered 2 boxes of Lemonade cookies. Manager got her panties up in a bunch cause she knew I purchased a case from another neighbor. Had the nerve to ask me why I was not going to purchase a case? Advised her if "Daisy" is still a Daisy next year, will purchase 1/2 case from her & 1/2 case from my neighbor.
I'm giving the 2 Lemonaide cookies to my non-English speaking neighbor as I only eat Thin Mints. She goes to language classes every night & practices on me. ![]()

The lowest level back when I started was a Brownie. You had actual cookies in a cardboard box carried from door to door for a cost of .50 cents. I wish I could remember how many cookies were in a box back in 1968 my first year. I love girl scout cookies but so expensive.

I love to support the GS sales, but this is crazy. What next, Toddler Scouts? And, for cryin' out loud, what's with the attitudes? If you bought ONE box, they should be as grateful, as if you bought a case.

@beckyb1012 My daughter was a Brownie. You're right, that was the lowest. Ugly brown uniform. Rock bottom "back in da day." Wait till I tell her about "Daisy."

I can't remember the name of the lemon cookies that Michigan girl scouts sold a few years ago but they were lousy. I used to work with a guy who had connections to a girl scout in Ohio and everyone I worked with placed orders for the Lemonades (sold in Ohio, not Michigan).
I'm not kidding - I was always down for 5 boxes. Another guy I worked with ordered 2 cases ![]()
Once I retired, I didn't have access to my supplier and had to find some kind of lemon cookie substitute because Michigan scouts are still selling lousy lemon cookies.
Oreos lemon cookie and lemon thins come pretty close in taste to my favorite GS cookie.

Here is the one from years. Meetings were always on Monday since my Great-Grandmother was our leader and she closed her Beauty Salon on Mondays. I had the gloves too. Mama Jack was very into all the girlie things.

Think I'd rather say that I don't want the cookies and just give
them $2.00 or $3.00 donation.
Buying a few boxes costs a small fortune since they are getting
so expensive.

@Mz iMac @beckyb1012 I was a Brownie, too. I was so excited to get my Brownie ring, I couildn't wait to show it to my brother, who was 7 years older than me.
I knocked on his bedroom door and he refused to open it. He said" "Just shove it under the door." Stupidly, I did. Then I heard this loud stomping. He shoved it back flat as crepe.
It goes without saying, Brownie's had NO respect ... LOL It took us a decade to reconcile that event. Actually, I still resent him for it.

@Mz iMac, Sometimes you just can't win ! I hate it when people put you on the spot like that. I think it was very nice of you to buy more of them from her and double nice to plan on giving them to your neighbor, LOL wish I were your neighbor I love the Lemon one's !
