Re: Who's getting what from Sephora?

I've been wanting Tom Ford's Mandarino di Amalfi since last summer so I am ordering it as I may not get a chance to get into a store over the next couple of days. I got a couple of samples from Nordstroms and may have bought it earlier but Sephora carries the smaller size and Nordstroms doesn't. So I've been waiting for Sephora's sale. I'm also ordering Living Proof's Full Thickening Mousse which is a staple for me.

I've been buying more at Ulta lately so I only got 10% off. But maybe this purchase will put me back in the next level for next year!

QVC lost a lot of my posts too!

I saw that stick at my local Sephora, do you use the Lancome liquid foundation? Do the numbers coordinate to each other? I liked the way it felt when I tested it on my hand -- it's very light feeling not heavy at all.

Sadly, I just removed the stick foundation and by this evening it just looked dry and stuck in any small lines I had. The color was wrong (it oxidized) and it was very drying for my complexion, even with a good serum and moisturizer. The Lancome liquid was also too dry for me, so that's probably why the stick one was too. Hope you have better luck.

Just one question @Trinity11, did you use a primer below either of the products?

Yes, in fact I got a sample of Lancome's primer and it was kind of sticky. I used it over my usual Dr. Denese Hydroshield and moisturizer.

@JustJazzmom I thought I'd jump in here since I use both the Lancome stick and liquid version of the Teint Idole.

I use 210 N in the stick and 230 W in the liquid. I bought the stick version first and I was on the fence with the color but because I use it more sheer I think my natural yellow/warm undertones show through so it works. In the liquid form I wear it more full coverage so the 210 N is too neutral so it gives me a bit of a flat/gray cast in certain light so I exchanged it for the 230 W and I love it...

I hope that helps!

@beautybiz I had a sample of the 230W on me today and it has an orange cast to my skin. But the 210N in the liquid ( I wore the sample yesterday) matched well with my neckline in natural lighting (sunlight). Funny, but the 2 shades look fine in office of fluorescent lighting. If I went outside it looks like I applied bronzer to my face.

Anyway, I am tempted to go by tomorrow and see if the 210N in the stick works for me-- the next shade down is the Ivorie 140 shade and I am not sure if that is correct for me-- I'm a light to medium shaded skin tone.

I ended up in the hands of the store's top makeup artist, who chose the perfect shade. She also went a long way to helping minimize the hollowing under my eyes and the stains on my lids.

She used a Sephora corrector in pink that comes in a wand applicator and then followed with Lancome Effacernes under-eye concealer in a tube. She managed to get a pefect shade for me.

I love the foundation, and the two eye products are working even better for me than my old stand-by -- It Cosmetic BBUE.

When I received my 10 percent code, I called the store. They said I could get the discount if I came in with my receipt and the products. For the amount that I paid for these three items, I did just that.

@suzyQ3 what is the name of the Sephora Corrector? TIA!

I use La Base Pro which is just the silicone w/o moisturizer. The one with moisturizer is called La Base Pro Hydra Glow. I had a sample of that and thought it was sticky. The La Base Pro is just silicone and to me that is not sticky.

@JustJazzmom Hopefully the 210N in stick form works for you. My skin type is combo to oily...leaning towards oily more than anything else so I haven't had much luck with other stick foundations since they all seem to be on the creamy side.

@HappyDaze, it's called Bright Future Color Corrector. I bought the Pink.
