Thanks, Ikat. Does the eyeliner actually shimmer? Not sure that would be a good look for my 62-year-old eyelids. I'll take a look thoughSmiley Happy

You'd be surprised, tansy. A little shimmer in an eyeliner is not like shimmer in eyeshadow. It just gives a nice dimension and a little oomph. Smile

Okay, sold. It's on my list to check out Smiley Happy

Perhaps I should have mentioned that my experience with shimmer eyeliners is primarily with the UD 24/7 pencils.

I tightline and love the new Marc Jacobs liners. The Laura Mercier consultant recommended the cake liner. While it is nice, and I use it on the top lid, I do not tightline with it because it transfers to my bottom waterline, which I hate. I prefer a larger eye look and do not want to close up my eye -- just get the top waterline. The MJ pencils are the BEST I have ever used.

I tightline with an It Cosmetics gel liner pencil or a Physician's Formula fine marker style liner. I think the trick is getting it in the lashes and not on the upper waterline. When I get it on the waterline, it smudges, gets on my lower lash line, and makes a mess. When I get it between the roots of my lashes, it works very well.

I second everything ChynnaBlue said! I use the Physician's Formula fine point marker liquid liner too.

I use whatever eye pencil I have available. You don't have to be perfect just take the pencil and go in between the upper lashes. Then take your mascara down to the root line and jiggle the wand from side to side. Maybelline Lash Discovery is good for the lashes because the wand is so narrow. Good luck.

Chynna, thank you for mentioning that! I always end up with it transferring to my lower waterline, so I'll try pushing it at the base and in between. I usually just don't take the time to really try. Lol! Smiley Wink
