I have a couple of the Laura Mercier cake liners, but have never had great luck with them. I've tried a ton of pencil/gel eyeliners and also had trouble with irritated eyes or smears whenever I've tight lined with them.

However, I recently found my all time favorite eyeliners thanks to another poster on here. They are Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Eyeliner Trios. I love them so much I've bought almost every set (every set comes with a black liner and two other colors). I find they work great for tightlining. I've had zero irritation and they also hardly ever smear (and I have had a life long problem with smearing eyeliner, especially on my lower lids). They are also extremely inexpensive...about $10 for 3 liners.

As an eyeliner junkie, I've tried about every type/brand of eyeliner out there. Since I've bought these, my other two dozen eyeliners haven't been touched. Thank you to the original poster who mentioned these {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

This is my favorite eyeliner of all. I have used it for a few years and have every color too. It just goes on and stays. The shimmer is SO flattering....not obvious but enhancing. They can be smudged out for a smoky eye or they can be precise.I sightlines.I waterline.I smudge. They never let me down.

I tightline using Fran Wilson's Cake Eyeliner that I bought in a drugstore and apply it with a thin angled paintbrush. I prefer the subtle look tightlining gives me as it appears that I have thicker eyelashes than I really do yet I don't look like I'm using an eyeliner.

I do but only with black eyeliner. IT is the absolute best. Waterproof.

IT No Tug Gel Pencils for me, too! The colors are beautiful. I use the BlackBrown and Navy on the upper kids and Silk Taupe (gorgeous) on the lower lid.

Although I do this every time I apply my eyeliner, I haven't found the perfect product to do it with. I take whatever liner I'm using on the top and smudge in on the water line. Some products last longer than others, but nothing I've found yet has taken HG status.

I use my Benefit bad gal liner and any Urban Decay liner to tight line. They are creamy and soft and have great staying power without smudging.

I like to tightline with a deep, deep blue also.

I've had good luck with Mally's eyeliners and surprisingly, for a really economical one--Jordana's 12 Hour eyeliner.

Evening, mystrionSmiley Happy

The dark blue really does make the whites of my eye look more white, unless I mess up the tightlining -- lol.

I appreciate all of the responses and have several choices to try now.

I have the Laura Mercier Marine Blue too and I love it. Takes a little bit of time getting it so it is not too watery and the color is deep but I've stopped lining my lids with a black liner and just doing the Blue Marine tightline on upper lid and a bit of a wing out cat eye at the edges. I've gotten so many complements on my eyes! I have had a problem with occasional smearing if my eyes water which they've been doing a lot lately in the wind and cold. So if I ever finish this pan, LOL, I may try some of the other recs that have been posted.

QVC lost a lot of my posts too!
