I just started tightlining my upper eyelids with a deep blue Laura Mercier product. I like the look but have difficulty getting the consistency just right to get a dark line stamped on.

I am wondering what products other posters may use.

I have tried with dozens of eyeliner, but my watery eyes always leave me with smears.

I have a couple of the Laura Mercier cake liners, but have never had great luck with them. I've tried a ton of pencil/gel eyeliners and also had trouble with irritated eyes or smears whenever I've tight lined with them.

However, I recently found my all time favorite eyeliners thanks to another poster on here. They are Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Eyeliner Trios. I love them so much I've bought almost every set (every set comes with a black liner and two other colors). I find they work great for tightlining. I've had zero irritation and they also hardly ever smear (and I have had a life long problem with smearing eyeliner, especially on my lower lids). They are also extremely inexpensive...about $10 for 3 liners.

As an eyeliner junkie, I've tried about every type/brand of eyeliner out there. Since I've bought these, my other two dozen eyeliners haven't been touched. Thank you to the original poster who mentioned these {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Thanks, Ikat. Does the eyeliner actually shimmer? Not sure that would be a good look for my 62-year-old eyelids. I'll take a look thoughSmiley Happy

Tansy, I looked at swatches online, and it does look like their is some glitter/shimmer to them, but it's not dense, and the "sparkles" look very fine. I just googled for swatches. HTH!! Smiley Happy

You'd be surprised, tansy. A little shimmer in an eyeliner is not like shimmer in eyeshadow. It just gives a nice dimension and a little oomph. Smile

I agree, Suzy. My mother is almost 60, and has a few shimmery liners that I gave her, and I think they look great. Bobbi Brown Scotch on the Rocks is one. It is sooooooo gorgeous!!! I had to buy a back up bc it's LE, so of course I fell in love with it! Smiley Wink

Hey Ikat ~ So happy to hear that you like the PF eyeliners. Tansy, don't let the word "shimmer" scare you. It is very subtle. I'm 58, and don't do shimmers. Enjoy your new find. Smile

I agree, very subtle shimmer. I'm 56 and last thing I want is glitter anything! Good luck Tansy, I hope you like them as much as I do.
