What is the best body butter?

I am looking for a good body butter for someone in their 60s. Any advice on one from anywhere?

@Fionna  I love the Beekman 1802 whipped body cream that comes in a small jar or tub.  I have many of the scents, but you can also get one that has no scent if you don't want a scent due to allergies, the pure goat milk option.

It's super thick, and not greasy at all.  My skin just drinks it in.  Love it!!

There is a nice set of 6 available for $36.00

here are a couple suggestions:  WEN 613 ultra nourishing body treatment and First Aid Beauty.  there is currently a TSV A389868 for First Aid Beauty which is an excellent value.

Re: What is the best body butter?

I have tried body butter from all sorts of brands.  It really comes down to personal preference to texture, scent, and budget.  If you are looking for a drugstore priced body butter, I recommend Trader Joe's Coconut Body Butter.  If you are looking for body butter with the best scents, I recommend Perlier's Body Butter (I like Imperial Honey, Olivarium, Carribean Vanilla, or Shea Butter with Almond).  If you are looking for body butter that is unscented and good for sensitive skin, I recommend First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream.

Re: What is the best body butter?

I can recommend Tweak'd Rescue Cream, Skinn's Pep 40 Body Butter, and M. Asam's Resveratrol's Body Butter. The Skinn and M. Asam products are on HSN, and both QVC and HSN sell Tweak'd products.

These are heavy-duty moisturizers, which I love for winter. If the person wants a lighter moisturizer with less oil, he or she might prefer something like First Aid Beauty's products. I haven't tried them but I've read the ingredient decks, and shea butter is way down on the list for the FAB (the recent TSV).

I tried Beekman's body butter and returned it because it just wasn't moisturizing enough for me, but  many people love it. To me, it's lighter than the first products I mentioned.

Good luck with helping your friend.

Re: What is the best body butter?

I love a good moisturizing, not heavy or sticky, body butter.

My favorite is Unfiltered by Raw Sugar Blueberry & Thyme Body Butter.

I love their lotions, body butters & hand soaps. I buy mine at Target, but they may be available other places.

The Body Butter is very moisturizing, but sinks right into the skin.

They have different scents. I love the Blueberry & Thyme.

It's 6oz for $10, but if you spend $30 on personal care you get $10 off.

That all said, & I do love the Raw Sugar, Target has a line of lotion in their Smartly brand.

You get a 20oz bottle of lotion, with a pump, for $1.99 & it is the most moisturizing lotion I have bought. Very lightweight, I buy the unscented & it keeps my dry scaly feet feeling as soft as any high priced lotion I have used.

Re: What is the best body butter?

For me, hands down, Josie Maran's body butter.  I've used Tweaked - threw it out half way through the tub, I"ve used First Aid Beauty and didn't like it, and I've used Beekman's and didn't like it either.  Always go back to Josie's body butter.  I only buy the unscented so can't speak to her scents but love the body butter.  Absorbs quickly, moisturizes well, and my body loves it.

Re: What is the best body butter?

I'm 73 and I have extremely dry skin.  I buy lots of body creams, and end up not using them because, for some reason, I really dislike putting creams on, expecially if they leave any kind of residue whatsoever.

This past year I have developed problems with itchy skin and I now feel I am forced to use these products, like it or not.  There are several that I can tolerate better than others, but the best for me is First Aid Ultra Repair Cream.  It is almost a pleasure to use, and leaves no greasiness, seems to really moisture, a moisture that lasts.

That one is my favorite.

Re: What is the best body butter?

@Fionna - I use a lot of the ones already mentioned - WEN, First Aid Beauty, Beekman, and Josie Maran. I like them all, and it depends on my mood, but my absolute favorite is Josie's. Even putting it on is an experience and makes me feel good!  Smiley Happy

I really like Beekmans body butter and Korres is nice too. Was given some Scottish cows milk body butter that was amazing.
