Not sure if this should be in BEAUTY or WELLNESS...
Do you think that drinking water helps the quality of or how your skin looks?...mainly on arms and legs.
I don't drink a lot of water, never have... but just wonder if water really makes a difference in the appearance of our skin.
thanks

Not sure but then again I live in the desert and no humidity so my skin is a bit dry even though I do drink a fair amount of water.

I drink a LOT of water - there's always a bottle next to wherever I'm sitting. I always have a water bottle with me when I'm out.
I can't tell whether it helps or not. I've never NOT drank water ... and my skin lookx just fine.
BUT - I suspect it's more genetcs than water. Women in my family age really well.
P.S. ..... we are also a family that consumes gallons of coffee.

8 glasses a day is supposed to be very good for us in many ways, but I dont usually reach that quota. I see girls in my office with water bottles at their desks all day long, and I also see them making frequent trips to the ladies room all day long too!! That would really get on my nerves.

Yes, doctors 'say' drink 8 glasses a day, but not sure it really makes a difference. I have an appt. with the dermatologist later this month, I am going to ask her.
At 67, my skin is looking 'old'. I do use a lotion every day on arms and legs as well as exfoliate on a regular basis.
I realize you can't turn back time but I sure would like to in some small ways.

Staying hydrated helps your body stay healthy and when you are healthy inside then it shows on the outside.
I also believe in this...
'The solution to pollution is dilution.' Help your body get rid of free radicals by drinking more water.

I'm almost 74 and have always been told to stay well hydrated and I drink about 3 16 oz. bottles of water daily. My surgeon, oncologist, PCP and gastro docs have all said this contributes to my well being and overall success in maintaining my health.
I just don't "get" people who don't like to drink water, I guess because from an earlly age I was told how important it was.

I am a person that does not often feel thirsty, so I make a conscious effort to get my water in every day. I think it really helps with my digestive system.

I 100% believe that drinking water helps with your hair, scalp and skin.

Thanks for the replies...I try to drink water, I get in 2 glasses a day...good size glass, but probably not enough.
Something to work on.
