Someone I know uses and loves the Briogeo scrub.  She said it feels amazing.  She was trying to talk me into using it but I took a hard pass.  For some reason I envisioned me scrubbing the color right out of my hair.  LOL

@Lipstickdiva that's also the reason I haven't tried the Briogeo scrub I got as a gift w/purchases at Sephora, and I have since seen comments that the clay in it will strip color.  Same with the Tweak'd scrub.  I got the TSV awhile back that was a set of 3 ea scrubs and clayditioners and I use them sparingly.  I'll only use the scrub within the last week or so before I color.  I haven't noticed a problem with the Clayditioner though.  Also, one of the 3 sets of the TSV contained an ingredient that is specifically designed to NOT wash out of your hair, so I won't be using that set at all.  Maybe I'll try to sell it on Ebay or something.

@Shanus I only clarify the last time I wash before I color my hair because I don't want my color going down the drain and red is so hard to maintain in the first place.   I use Malibu Hard Water shampoo since I have terribly hard water.  I really wish we would get a reverse osmosis water purifying system for the house, but I don't see that happening.

Scrubs for hair to me are not neccesary especially if your hair is very fine & prone to alot of fallout. I would much prefer a clarifying shampoo only once a month if you use alot of products or if you use a shampoo with argan oil or shea butters etc. I would never use a scrub & I have Med. fine hair. I am not a expert but its just my opinion.

@Kabella   You're actually scrubbing the scalp which is great for circulation, clarifying, keeping follicles clear and pores open for maximum hair growth.

@Icegoddess , I color as well.  She does a much darker than my natural base color on me and then we do chunky highlights.  My color tends to fade already which is why like you, I just don't use a clarifying shampoo on a regular basis.  I think right before my next appointment for color, I will try the scrub I got in my Boxy Charm and see how I like it.

I got a scalp scrub last year and only use it once in a while. Not even sure what good it does so dont really feel I need to use it!

@Shanus  A scalp scrub is not necessary for me. My favorite shampoo by Pureology (strength cure) has the right about of a exfoliating ingred. which works well for my med. fine hair. I started using that shampoo when I experiened breakage yrs ago & continue to love it for many reasons. Since it does contain a silicone which does not bother me as it works well to seal in moisture. I do use a clarifying shampoo once a month which contains apple cider vinegar. My other favorite is my brush that helps distribute natural oils from my scalp thuoutt my hair is a boar brush & also does stimulate my scalp. I am glad you do like scalp scrubs & thanks for replying.

I use one by Kérastase every once in a while.  I also follow with a deep conditioning mask. My hair feels super clean after using it.  Sometimes my hair becomes so soft that it is difficult to style so now I cut back on use.

@Kabella if the silicone is Amodimethicone which Pureology Hydrate also has, I was reading on a site that sells sulfates that Amodimethicone can be removed with simply a cleansing conditioner.  Since they are in the business of selling sulfates, I see no reason for them to lie about it, so I no longer fear that ingredient.

Re: Scalp Scrubs - Was doing some reading

@Icegoddess  Yes the hydrate line also has Amodimethicon. Your correct even tho that specific cone is not totally water soluble Its a polymer that binds the damaged parts of hair but does not accumulate on top of itself. I don't wash my hair everyday but 2 times a wk. Sometimes but not offen, I will use other leave in products that can accumulate build up & then I will go in with a clarifying shampoo. My 2 favs are no1. Pureology...no2. Olaplex. No fear here either, take care.
