Huge fan of Angie of Hot & Flashy!

Thanks, Shanus for the list.
I watch most of those you listed with the addition of Michelle Wang - not a licensed ANYTHING, but she has a minimalist aesthetic that I like. She is merely a makeup enthusiast like me. I will say she seems to like most of what she uses, but I notice that she doesn't review items that are out of her comfort zone, so maybe that makes sense.
But I also watch the Welsh boys - they are just so stinkin' cute (Robert is/was a professional makeup artist, his brother James is just a skin care 'enthusiast'), Wayne Goss on occasion, and a new one All Feisty - her name is Jennifer, she WAS a makeup artist to work her way through law school!
I'm intrigued by your statement to watch for the ads that pop up in their presentations and the affiliate links as if that makes them suspect. To me, that's not a bad thing, but how they make their living. Of course the Ytubers get paid by these companies it's their livelihood! The better ones always acknowledge when they've got a sponsor. As an adult, I can choose to watch the ads or to use the links or not and I'm not swayed by them.
I started watching one ytuber because she was reviewing an eyeshadow palette I was interested in. She was 'having trouble' during the entire video getting the shadow to lay down the way she wanted so trashed the palette. Then I couple weeks later, she did the same thing with another palette, claiming it was patchy. I then watched others review each of those palettes and they had no trouble with the colors but mentioned they were not as heavily pigmented as some others. I stopped watching complainer.
I watch them more to see technique or to see how certain textures or colors of shadows or blush look in real life (instead of on a web page of a vendor selling the product). Or to get a wear test on a new foundation. They are entertainment for me.

This is how I feel as well. These people are earning a living. So of course they do what they can to make money and some of them are earning a heck of a lot of money. It's astounding. LOL I believe they only make money from the ads that play during their videos if you actually watch the video. If you have the option to skip it and you do, they don't make any money.
I also don't care about coupon codes either. If I want a product and one of them has a code, I'll use it. But I don't buy something I don't want just because of their code. As far as affiliate links, anyone can have an affiliate link. There is an app that allows anyone to earn money from posting links to products/websites.

@Sammijo10 My concern was for those who may be swayed by discounts, recommendations by untrained people, etc. Makeup is no harm no foul, but skincare can be expensive mistakes. BTW, watch Michele Wang too. Her choices are all luxury brands, but she says that upfront, so you know no drugstore brands from her.

I don't watch You Tubers for their credentials either. I watch the make up you tubers because I enjoy their personality and the tips they give. I'm not suspicious of any affiliate links or pop up ads. It's how they make a living.

I like some of the YouTubers that you do!
Brad, Hyram, James Welsh.
Who cares that they don't have "credentials"!
"Credentials" aren't the end all and be all.
Sometimes the BEST advice comes from those who don't have "credentials".

I enjoyed your post, you mentioned some I hadn’t heard of, I don’t see anything ‘hater’ about your post.

Would you have issue about a woman who was super - not thin, to the extreme, who seemed to under exercise, and be too unconcerned about calories?
It could send the wrong message to younger viewers.
I keep hoping we will get past body judging.

@Drythe , her audience is very young and based on a lot of the comments young, impressionable teens. She is worshipped on ProAna sites and discussed often as triggering. She gives recipes and food suggestions which obviously promote purging etc. Her "What I Eat in a Day" videos were met with great controversy. Since she is a physician she is held to a higher standard ...perhaps that is why so many have called her out. In addition she blocks everyone that disagrees with her.
