Re: Questions for those who use ISOMERS.

I have tried them all....Matrixyl 20%, Glutathiosome & fast lift eye serum is by far my favorites. Copper P for bites, burns or wounds, a life saver! I have the super skin serum & the vitamin c w/ferulic, retinaicin, will not reorder. My go to product for matrixyl has been the Elysee fountain of youth.

What is your opinion/experience regarding Re-Densify 3d Volume Booster and Deep Crease Correction?  I can NOT use Botox or ANY type of filler, so my only route is topical. With weight loss, the excess fat lost (which is good) is making any lines I have more obvious and there is a crepiness due to the loss of volume (all bad). The Deep Crease is a cream but not a moisturizer; can this be cocktailed with a night cream or do you layer? Is this to be used day and night or is that too much with using other things?

TIA for all your help, ladies. I know I'm not the only one wondering and the fact that you are helping so many of us....thank you. : )

@SahmIam

I am including Linmo in this b.c my guess is that she also has some helpful knowledge.

When I first started with Isomers, I purchased lots of products all at once. I have rosacea and it might have been a good idea for my skin’s sake to add in one at a time after my skin stopped acting up!

My first attempt at using the thicker preparations did not work out. So the re-densify was one I should have waited to try.

Now that I am clear, my plan is to move ahead using Copper P, glutathione, and Fast Lift eye serum (always had good luck with this one.)

My rosacea is critical when the heating system starts coming on. This sets up a type of breakout and also a scaly rash on my lids and even under my eyes along the lash line. My doctor rx’d betamethasone and desonide;  both will knock the rash out for one day but the rash comes back.

With the help of Isomers and their chemists, I am now ready to gingerly add in the products I mentioned above as well as re-density.

@LTT1I used to have quite a bit of redness on my face.  It's pretty much gone now.  I think the Copper P helps quite a bit.  I've also been using Isomers ceramide serum for the past few years.  I think it's being discontinued, but during their December visit, they offered a special bonus size which is still available on Evine.  I purchased 3 bottles, thinking each one will last about a year, and then I'll figure out what to do after that.

I think your product choices (copper p, glutathiosome and fast lift) are a good foundation.   When I first started with Isomers, I did what you did, and tried just about every product at once with negative results.  I had to back off and start with the basics you mentioned and then added products on gradually.  The 'suggested routines' information on their website was very helpful to me in determining which products to try.

Re: Questions for those who use ISOMERS.

@SahmIamI use the Redensify 3D Volume booster. I am looking for a plumper, more rounded face too. At least the upper part. Don't need a plumper chin! I don't know that my face is considerably plumper from using the product. My cheeks look higher and firmer due to everything I use, and this is one of the products I use daily.

Use: Since the formula is creamy, I mix two small pumps of Redensify into my moisturizer, which right now is a pump of CeraVe and a spot of Cermide serum.

I chose Redensify because it contains quite a bit of Adifylene. Adifylene is a fat remodelling peptide. They have In Vivo studies showing it increases fat on your cheeks or bust. Now it only increased cheek volume by 12%. So it would be hard to detect that level of difference I think. But why not get that extra 12% and maintain it?

In the ingredient list you'll see Adifylene listed as basically Acetyl Hexapeptide-38. (Don't get confused like I was. Adifylene is Acetyl Hexapeptide-38, whereas Matrixyl Synthe 6 is Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38. Totally different ingredients but both awesome.)

Info about the Adifylene:

With age and with loss of overall body fat, additional loss of facial fat can be partly due to reduced estrogen production. Body fat is key in producing estrogen. Not making assumptions, but if that is part of the cause of facial fat loss for you, you may also want to try a soy product like the R Pur daily serum which has a lot of germinating soy in it.

I don't use the Deep Crease product. The ingredients don't impress me as having much to do with reducing deep creases.

Re: Questions for those who use ISOMERS.

Hi @Porcelain! The more of your posts I read, the more I grow to respect your advice, and thank you for sharing your quite extensive knowledge with us!

You mentioned couple of times that you don't use retinol. Can I ask you why? What's your reason? I really would like to hear your opinion on retinol.

I did use Isomers Retiniacin before, but recently switched to Consult Beaute (Evine) Regenerol Retinol products. I was not in love with Retiniacin and when almost everyone else is doing Retinol, I thought I should use it too. But maybe it's not really necessary?

It seems like Manuela has put the extremophiles in other creams. You will have to text them to find out which ones.

@hopi   thanks - i know there are all in one options.  i am looking for antarcticine

@ms traditionalThe all-in-one dream cream (which might be going away) and the new all-in-one THE cream both contain the same key actives (plus other ones) as the antarcticine cream.

@Linmo  thanks  i am really looking for just antarcticine - i was directed by Isomers to all in one but not what i want.  i was hoping for a recommendation of another antarcticine cream as i see some are available.

A few questions, if you please : )

1) Does/should the Glutathiosome Plus High Potency Face Serum sting a tad when first applying? Should the Super Skin Serum? How about if you layer them vs wearing them at different times?

2) If NONE of the moisturizers are hydrating enough for your skin, what do you add to it? Or, do you use something else? If the latter, do you layer any ISOMERS moisturizer over it especially if wearing makeup?

3) Acetyl Hexapeptide 8 vs the Viper serum; which really works on the lines?

4) Which Matrixyl is everyone raving about?

5) How does one incorporate the Copper serum with the Glut and super skin serum?

6) How about Vit. C; where does that come in to play?

7) If you use Retiniacin Night Treatment (or any Retinal product) what Isomer products do you use with it at night?

TIA!!!

Re: Questions for those who use ISOMERS.

Hi @sonechko!  Hmmm how to answer your great questions? I don't want to offend anyone who loves their retinol or retin a and might take my opinions personally..

I use peptides instead of retinol, but that is only possible because I know which peptides to use. Most people don't have the inclination to gather and process all that info.

Retinol and Retin A (I'll refer to them both together as retinoids, and specify retinol or retin a only when I need to) are proven to work, in that they tell the skin to make new skin cells and collagen. But there are major downsides:

  • Retinoids turn you into a vampire basically, and not in a good way. You can't let the sun touch your skin while you have a retinoid on it. If sun touches retinoids, the retinoids go bad and your skin gets attacked rather than helped. Even after you wash off the retinoid, your skin is more sensitive to sun and damages quicker and deeper.

  • Retinoids are extremely unstable. Cosmetics manufacturers have to go to great lengths to include them in products that will be shelf stable and not go bad. Not just light, but air turns retinoids bad.

And the manufacturers are greatly constrained in what ingredients they can put in a retinoid product because it plays poorly with other ingredients in a formulation. That's why retinoid products with a significant, effective retinoid load in them tend to be very simple and basic formulations.

Even antioxidants in retinoid formulas are only there to help stabilize the retinoid. They don't get a chance to help your skin because their effectiveness is used up within the bottle helping the retinoid.

  • Retin A makes your skin sluff off faster. My skin turns over fast enough on its own. Most people don't actually need their skin to shed faster. It's not a particularly common problem.

Speeding that up turned me into sort of a snake creature. It looked like I'd spread Elmers glue all over my face when I used Retin A. The peeling phase never ended. I needed to go to work and sit in meetings and there was no way to make my skin look normal enough to feel comfortable.

  • Retinoids thin the stratum corneum, which is your protection layer. Because my family has a history of rosacea, I don't want a thinner stratum corneum. That would provide less protection to my veins and blood vessels. I want a strong, healthy, well organized, well moisturized outer skin layer.

Peptides are just as effective at collagen production as retinoids, but without any of the above side effects. Plus, if you know your peptides you can fine tune exactly what you want them to do. To sum up: I don't use retinol because I don't need to. I have better results and more control using peptides.

Does that help? I'm not willing to argue about this with anyone--and not making any assumptions that anyone wants to argue. I know that many others use retinoids very happily and successfully and they should definitely keep doing what they are doing.

@Porcelain  Your statement:

"Retinoids thin the stratum corneum"

I've been told this by many doctors (dermo and oncologist) over the years and so, I shy away from them. I've attempted to use them but always with not so good results. Thank you for this wealth of info; I'm putting it to good use! : )

Re: Questions for those who use ISOMERS.

@SahmIam I like the Redensify.  The deep crease wasn't a Wow for me, but many get great results.

I also lost a bunch of weight, from illness, about 6 years ago.  My face was skeletal looking and I scared the small neighborhood kids!  I've gained enough weight back so my body looks better, but my chipmunk cheeks never reappeared.  I've considered injections, but the cost is more than I can afford right now.  I'm seeing enough improvement with the redensify to keep using it.  I didn't expect full cheeks, but from photos they look better.  I've also purchased the Nuface and it helps too....if I'm consistent.
