So don't open those threads if it bothers you so much, it's that simple.

I open them because I am seeking assistance for WEN products that might work.

terrier3, you might want to have a look through post #4 of the Wen 101 thread because it focuses on why people like certain Wen products and how they're used them successfully. Unfortunately the Q's search function isn't always that helpful, so I've tried to focus on gathering the most useful information I could find. In particular, you might want to have a look through the first section which focuses on the CCs. In particular the three CC sections on: general questions, "how to" - cleanse & "how to" - starting out.

I've just moved the thread up for easier access but if you click on this Wen 101 link, it will take you to the beginning of this thread. The Wen information is in the first ten posts: (1) Types of Wen Cleansing Conditioners (2) Most popular Wen Products & Scents / # of pumps (3) Wen FAQ - key Wen links (4) Wen products - information threads (5) Wen hair care tips - information threads (6) Fun Wen threads (7) Wen cleansing conditioner discovery kits available on QVC (8) Best Wen kits for overall value on QVC (9) * (10) Past OTOs & special offers/kits - running tallys for past TSVs & Wen Gallons.

The Wen FAQ - the key Wen links thread (first five posts) provides a shorter version of links to key Wen information. -- Additionally, there's waterdragon's great tips from the Chaz Dean Studio site thread (initial post, post #3, & post #8). -- There's also Hilary informative Benefits of Oils (especially initial post, as well as posts #3, #8, #32, #39, #59, #60, #130-132, #161 and #166) and the I Am Even More in Love With the Wen Oils!!! threads. -- As well as DrCEB's comprehensive Any Women of Color WEN Users Out There? thread.

I hope this information is helpfulSmiley Happy

You know your posts have been a bit confusing. It first sounded like you have 'experimented' with every WEN formula and the only ones that worked were the 3 Seasonals you mentioned. But in actuality you have never really 'experimented' with any of the Core formulas except POM and CA. So the reality it that you have not found a Core formula that works for you yet which is the real crux of the WEN Product line. The Seasonals are just for well 'seasoning'.

I agree with what Okiebug said and that if you want to continue 'experimenting' you should try the Discovery Kit- that was my first purchase and a great way to begin the journey.

untitled and okiebug, that's how I started as well. For my first purchase, I was fortunate enough to be able to buy the December 2010 (5) 16oz core CCs which unfortunately isn't offered anymore. But the (4) core 16oz. CCs for $84 which is a regular QVC kit is great starting place as well. The Wen - Cleansing Conditioner Discovery Kits available at QVC thread goes through all the discovery kits currently available at QVC and provides a cost analysis of each of these kits.

terrier3, I'm not quit sure of what happened, but I hope you'll take a look through the information we've all mentioned because it can really be quite helpful. And please come back with your questions, because this forum really is a great place to work through the Wen learning curve.

Also, Chaz has a number of shows scheduled for the next few days (wen hits & shows June 27th - June 30th) and his hour-long shows provide a lot of basic information on how to use the Wen products. We always have live chats (Wen - June Chat) during these shows and that would be a great time to get clarification on whatever Chaz is saying. The chats are open to everyone so please feel free to join in!!! The more, the merrier!!! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

You know you're on an online forum that is entirely dedicated to the discussion of this product, right? What do you expect people here to be talking about? {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

My issue is that NO ONE seems to have the magic formula.

Everyone is questioning what to do, what to use, etc.

I don't understand why cleaning your hair can't be more simple. Especially since I have tried new formulas, only to have to return them - a waste, IMO.

Chaz gives suggestions that appear in the descriptions - but often they don't work correctly as indicated. I'm not the only one with these issues - many posts seem to be searching for some kind of a Holy Grail of a system.

Again, that's just my opinion.

That's because there is no magic formula and it's not hard. Some people just obsess over things or want "am I doing it right" validation and you're seeing that. It's the same on ANY forum for anything I've ever been on.

There's one forum I follow that's about nail polish and people are always asking about how to use a certain cuticle remover. The instructions are clearly printed on the back of the bottle, but people always want advice from people they think are "experts" because they read their posts and the people seem knowledgeable.

Searching for a Holy Grail is not a WEN thing, it's a human nature thing. If it weren't basic human nature, that ancient story wouldn't still be around and you wouldn't even have a term for a much sought after of epic and mythical item. Being convinced that someone out there has something better than you and wanting the secret or knowing more about it is also a human nature thing. Keeping up with the Joneses.

Some WENNERS here told me that the seasonals had better ingredients...so I stuck with experimenting with them.

So many ideas/ so many suggestions!

I've had to change up my exercise routine because I am no longer getting the results I once did. Or certain allergy medications don't have the same effect this year as they did in times past. Bottom line, lots of variables can change results that once worked. Our hair is no different. It's nice to have other people's opinion.

I couldn't agree more.

Before WEN, I constantly changed shampoos and conditioners because not one brand worked for me. Over time, these companies change their product offerings too. For example, Aussie changed their 3 minute mask drastically and with no warning. I was upset, but I moved on.

There may come a day when I may not use WEN, but I won't ever say the users are obsessive. People complain about certain face care products, lipstick, foundation, etc. that don't give them the same results as they once did. WEN is no different.

It's no different than skincare. You can make it as simple or as complicated as you'd like, as cheap or as expensive as you'd like, and there is no "magic formula" that works for everyone all of the time. I don't find the Wen discussions to be that much different from the Perricone discussions, the Dr. Denese discussions, etc.

You make the choice of what you want to do, how extensive you want to get, what is worth your time and money, and what works best for you.

Don't know if you color your hair....maybe not yet, but some day you might. This is the main reason I use WEN. My color doesn't fade. Can't say that with anything else.

Take okie's advice and get that discovery kit. I believe you will find your magic bullet if you don't give up.

Good luck to you~Smile

Maybe I missing something, but what's so complicated? I put it on my hair, run a wide toothed comb through my hair, leave it sit for a few minutes and rinse it out. No different than any other shampoo/conditioner. Yes, I've gone through a few different formulas to find the right for me, but it wasn't a big deal. They all work well, some just better than others. I think some newbies may be a little apprehensive about not using something that lathers to wash your hair, but other than that it's no different than trying any other line of hair products.

I loved Pumpkin, Vanilla Mint, Apple Spice.

The POM made my hair flat & listless. So then I tried Aloe Cucumber - bad. Honey Peach - OK. Orange Blossom - terrible.

I asked if seasonals like Pumpkin will return and was told I was SELFISH and Chaz is a genius at experimenting & doesn't want to repeat himself.

I came here for assistance - I do like WEN - and got insulted.

I see many posters asking questions and trying MANY products - always looking for the perfect one.

I guess I will take the advice of many serious WENNers and go back to Aveda when I run out of product.

Well ok, that isn't at all what your post was about. Saying you are selfish for wanting Chaz to bring back FGP is ridiculous. It seems to be a popular seasonal formula, and lots of people would like to see it again. I never tried it because I don't like food or spicy scents for my hair/body, but I believe people liked it because it was moisturizing? You might like Fig--I love it! I waited a long time to try it because I thought it might be too heavy for my hair, but it is just perfect.

I agree, but I used to always try different products all the time and some I only used once or twice. I played around to get my perfect Wen products for my hair and in fragrances I liked and it was fun. I think I have it down now and only need to change if I feel like trying a new scent for fun.
