If you don't like what you're getting back, you should look at what you're putting out. You seem to have a lopsided (not to mention melodramatic) way of looking at the "questions" you're asking and the answers you're getting.

You should use whatever products and/or formulas work best for you regardless of what other people are doing...just like everyone else should.

terrier3, this is just my suggestion - start back with the basics - you need to find the core formulas that work for you. That way you always have something that works for you, whether the seasonals work or not. Do what we suggest for newbies - get a discovery kit or if you have some of the core formulas, start there. Use just the cc and the sc, one at a time so you know how they perform on your hair. Use one for at least 2-3 cleanses before you switch to another. Do the same thing with each of the core formulas. The styling crème doesn't have to change, unless you switch from the core sc to 613. Keep notes if you want to - whether one was drying, left your hair flat, was good, etc. Then put aside the ones that didn't work for you and just don't worry about them any more. Start mixing the ones that worked for you and you will find a combination that is best for your hair. Until you do that, don't use the seasonals. They weren't meant for regular use - just fun extras.

I still don't understand what your point is (I think I was responding to your "obsessive and strange" comment initially). If you have a process or a CC or combination that works for you consistently, great. Use it. I do Smile But of course as new scents and products come out, or as people are introduced to the line for the first time, people are going to be trying new things and wanting to discuss working them into their routine...given the nature of online discussion forums in general and the explicit topic of this one in particular. There are millions of contented WEN users worldwide who are happy using what they use and aren't here talking about it.

My problem was the best CCs for me were Pumpkin, VWM and Fall Apple...no longer available.

If I knew at the time, I would have stocked up. I suggested some of the most popular seasonals should return for encores and I got ripped...told that isn't what Chaz likes to do and I was being SELFISH for wanting MY favorites to return.

But constantly changing formulas and looking for my initial success is tiring and wasteful.

the problem with the whole seasonal thing is that Chaz started it only because people were asking - and continue to ask - for Wen in all sorts of scents (if you do a search you will find dozens of threads on here having to do with scents people would like). doing tons of scents and making them permanent just isn't feasible for Chaz to do, so he's chosen to do limited seasonal scents and change them up every year so that he can make people happy while at the same time not having so many scents that it's overkill. i know so many people would love to have past seasonal scents that they love return and become a permanent part of the line but it's just not feasible for Chaz to do.

Maybe I missing something, but what's so complicated? I put it on my hair, run a wide toothed comb through my hair, leave it sit for a few minutes and rinse it out. No different than any other shampoo/conditioner. Yes, I've gone through a few different formulas to find the right for me, but it wasn't a big deal. They all work well, some just better than others. I think some newbies may be a little apprehensive about not using something that lathers to wash your hair, but other than that it's no different than trying any other line of hair products.

I loved Pumpkin, Vanilla Mint, Apple Spice.

The POM made my hair flat & listless. So then I tried Aloe Cucumber - bad. Honey Peach - OK. Orange Blossom - terrible.

I asked if seasonals like Pumpkin will return and was told I was SELFISH and Chaz is a genius at experimenting & doesn't want to repeat himself.

I came here for assistance - I do like WEN - and got insulted.

I see many posters asking questions and trying MANY products - always looking for the perfect one.

I guess I will take the advice of many serious WENNers and go back to Aveda when I run out of product.

FYI, I don't know about not liking to repeat himself, but he has strongly hinted (if not said outright) that the original seasonals, including the Pumpkin and the Vanilla Mint, will be back in 2015. That doesn't mean he won't continue to introduce new seasonals, but he has heard the demands for a re-release of those products and he will be bringing them back at some point at least temporarily. So you will have your chance to stock up in the future Wink

terrier3, I'm sorry you're struggling to find the best formula. I think many, many people never try the seasonals. I used WEN (for years) before POM was even an option and I never heard words like "soy" or "gluten". I think that's why Team WEN brings the gallons. You can pick your favorite, and stick with that. Everything besides the CC is optional. If the core CC doesn't meet your needs (or wants), then maybe it's time to move on from WEN.

I use 3 products every day. CC, oils, and styling creme. There was a time when I ONLY used TT CC, nothing else. I am in a very similar boat now with the SHP. It works better on my hair for 2nd cleanse than my fig (fig has been my 2nd cleanse for years) What will I do when my SHP runs out? I imagine I'll go back to fig, or maybe a better seasonal will be out by then? I could have stayed with my staples (TT and Fig) and been just fine.

I could easily live with just the TT; or the TT and fig. Trying the seasonals and styling products was my choice, and now I choose to use the oils and SC. I don't think you're selfish; I think you're frustrated and that's okay. I hope you find something (in the WEN line or outside of it) that works for you.Smile

BTW - I started with the pumpkin seasonal because it was a sample in a beauty box.

That got me hooked...I had no idea at the time it would be discontinued.

I totally should do this. Even though I've been using WEN off and on for years it wasn't until May that I FINALLY did the cleanse, rinse, repeat deal and it has made ALL the difference. But I haven't tried using each one of my CCs on its own for more than a day and I really should so I will REALLY know which formulas I love best.

Thanks okie!

Terrier, I am so sorry you got treated that way!

I've been using Wen since September and it took a few months of trial and error with core formulas before I found my staples.

Seasonals are a fun way to change things up, but they are not as universal as we would like to think. Also, they are seasonal.

Based on the ones that you do like, have you tried Bamboo Green Tea?

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.
