@Sawn wrote:Good for you! You look wonderful! Such a nice little boost of confidence, isn't it? I had a q-lift a few years back. Noone notices a difference except me. I have much less sagging of the jowl area than I had. Sometimes having a little something done works wonders for our spirits. Here's hoping that it lasts for eighteen months!
Thank you! I'm not familiar with the Q Lift but I'm thrilled it worked so well for you! I discussed my lower face with my Aesthetician too. Currently I'm struggling to get my thyroid regulated and one of the side affects has been weight gain. We both agreed to wait until it's under control and revisit this area at that time. I greatly appreciated the prudence expressed in our conversation.
I hope this procedure lasts a good long while too. And it definitely has boosted my confidence. How could it not! Love it!!!

@Pink123 wrote:@rochelleS congratulations on finding RHA! The best and I believe it will end up being the winner. I think it is from Switzerland.
I have been using it for 2 years. And yes it is much better than Allergan (juverderm, restalyne, etc).
Your lips look nice and I used it a touch on mine because one side is a bit more crooked after a youthful car accident....lol.
Anyway, it won't last a year and a half but I can tell you it should last 9-12 months.
It depends upon your body type. Everyone is different. I'm skinny, tall and I go through it very fast. Yes, poor me on this one. So I last 8 or 9 months with RHA but it was much worse with Restalyne, etc. My quick body type just ate it up.
Did you just have it done? I don't see much bruising as lips are so veinous. They are the worst for bruises.
I'm sorry didn't have the time to go through all the other answer's here.
But excited someone else can attest to RHA and how lovely it is-- YAY!
PS. Again, please, it is all about the injector as well. Please do not go to just anyone. One syinge is 850.00 - in some states probably 750.00. Not cheap but so worth it.
Plus you don't leave swollen so you can almost see what you will look like the next day. Wonderful.
Thank you kindly. I truly appreciate your comments especially having used/using RHA yourself.
The picture I posted was taken by my Aesthetician right after the injections were completed. I posted it soon afterwards.
I had one teeny, teeny tiny sot of blood on my upper lip from one of the injections. Barely visible and shortly disappeared. No biggie. There was swelling as seen in the after picture but definitely nothing grotesque or unnatural. Absolutely no bruising .The novocaine cream wearing off was the most disconcerting for me. I feel the same after dental procedures too.
My lips were dry for awhile, much more than what I experience. Extra moisturizer helped.
It'll be a month and I notice one side of my lips has lessened some compared to the initial photo. I'm probably more sensitive to this than others who don't know the difference but I'm seeing the Aesthetician on 11-21 and will be addressing this then. My sister is having her lips done as well so it'll be another interesting and exciting day for sure.
I'd be happy if this lasts close to a year. I have no idea how I will metabolize the RHA. Time will tell. Low thyroid has greatly slowed my whole system down and I don't know if that'll have any effect. So currently I am very much an opposite of you...much shorter, and chunky from this hormone imbalance.
I'll let you and everyone else know how the next appt goes and will share my sister's B&A. ๐โค๏ธ๐

Hi @rochelleS Yes that can happen when swelling wear's off and you see something is not in sync with our lips.
Don't worry, they will fix it. Just make sure you show them exactly what your concern is.
Let me know. Cheers!

@LuvSoCal wrote:I can see why you're so pleased. What a difference! Did the inj
Injector say if there could be any side effects?
Thank you! I am pleased. And like @Pink123 mentioned, there are no side effects. Some people may bruise or swell differently than others but that's not an actual side effect. Google RHA, pretty interesting plus vids on utube.

@Squirrels Are Trash wrote:You do look really great. The doctor stuck to her word about keeping your lips natural--truly the oft-heard --"your lips but better!"
Enjoy them!
Oh you are so right saying "your lips but better." Definitely nailed it with that.(And now I can't disengage the bold font. My phone has been so wonky. ๐คจ)
I love my Aesthetician's point of view in only providing a natural result for her clients in her practice. She said she refuses to do procedures for those wanting over the top exaggerated results. Kudos to her! Integrity is appreciated. ๐๐๐
Thank you for the compliment too.๐

@rochelleS - I'm just now seeing this and reading all of the comments.
You look fantastic! Not only do your lips look great, but your whole expression looks brighter and happier. How great you found an esthetician that you like and trust! ![]()

You look really great @rochelleS! Congratulations!
I think even your chin and neck look a little more picked up. I noticed because that is an area of concern to me.
Hope you don't mind my asking, do you think that was the result of the Botox injected in the cheek muscle to lift the corners of your mouth, or was it something else? Maybe just your smile? Your eyes give away your smile!
BTW, I don't think you look angry in the before, you look good there too, but I do think I need to do something to pick up my cheeks and neck, so interested in ideas.
TIA, and congratulations again!
Thank you so much for your kind words. Much appreciated!
No worries, feel free, you can ask me anything.
There was no change on my chin and neck from my lip injections. I believe it was just how I was holding my head and the way the photo was taken. Just a good and lucky shot. Most of my selfies look like I have a walrus neck, lol.
The botox injection will help to relax the downward turn of the corners of the mouth. Another facial change that occurs for most as we age.
Take a look at Kybella for the neck (Google, utube etc) My sister had this done and her double plus+++ chin and excess neck fat is gone. And she has struggled with weight for years
It does take awhile for the total effect/results to kick in but it works and her neck area looks fabulous. Truly!
Low thyroid has added extra lbs so I won't explore this or any other non surgical modality until my body gets regulated. Hopefully when my metabolism restarts and this weight comes down my nasal labial and marionette lines will soften too. We shall see. There's always a plan B.
Any more questions? Feel free. I'll answer whatever I can.

@Citrine1 wrote:@rochelleS You look great in both pics, but those lips are a real WOW and I'm glad you love them. (I wouild too!).
I wasn't blessed with big lips and, as I age, I see them dwindling away. My daughter has huge, plump lips and I have no idea where she got them from. I'm so jealouos!!
Anyway, back to you .... congratulations on having the nerve to do something you wanted and congratulations on finding someone who did such a great job. You really look fantastic; love those lips!!
Thanks so very much for your very kind and special words. Truly appreciated.
I hated seeing my lips changing, especially the disappearance of the outer portion of my lower lip. I was drastically losing symmetry and balance and it frankly looked so odd. If my lip has lost its shape and volume evenly I most likely wouldn't have been so unhappy with the change. Fortunately this wonderful experience has been able to change that! Viva Lips! ๐๐๐

Thank you!
There is some discomfort but for me well worth having this done. Fortunately, it was short lived as the RHA was injected and absolutely no discomfort once the procedure was finished.
@Sunshine Kate wrote:Looks very nice!
I would like to have something like that done, but afraid of the pain involved.
Thanks for the reply, I'll think about it more.

Hey @rochelleS guess what? I don't even use numbing cream.
I don't feel it's necessary as it really does not hurt that much plus it goes so fast.
With that gooey numbing cream even though they wipe most of it out I feel the needle can slide around causing more puncture's by the aesthetitician to get it right. We want the least.
BTW, the aestheticians who put too many needle punctures in are called "prickers".
. Seriously, some just keep pricking the lips causing more chance for extensive bruising. But the lips are so veinous it's hard to avoid hitting them.
But that's me, lol.
Again, you look great. What a little change can do for one's self esteem, right? Cheers!
