Re: I Had RHA Lip Injections Today 💋

[ Edited ]

By the way, RHA is a filler from Switzerland that has 4 strengths.

It is not only for the lips.

This is for education and I highly suggest it. RHA submits to the skin in a natural way where the other fillers can bloat you up. Yet Juvenderm can reverse itself too if you are not happy.

So the 4 strengths go from lips to sides of face.  Never inject into cheeks. Run if they try.

Bottom line, make sure you have the best injector with reviews.

@Sunshine Kate

Thank you!

There is some discomfort but for me well worth having this done. Fortunately, it was short lived as the RHA was injected and absolutely no discomfort once the procedure was finished.

I would like to have something like that done, but afraid of the pain involved.

@rochelleS   YOU LOOK AMAZING.  So smart to keep it more natural looking than balooning out your lips.  I am so glad you're happy with the results.  That's the most important part.   Wishing you 18 months of fuller lips!  Keep us posted.

@nyc1

Thank you for such a nice compliment. That was especially sweet.

I'll be going back on the 21st with my Sis for her lip treatment and do have a few questions of my own to address. After the minimal swelling went down it looks like one side isn't quite the same as the other. Stay tuned.

@rochelleS Good for you!  What a beautiful, subtle improvement.  Even the sparkle in your eyes was uplifted!

Will your sister allow you to post B & A pics of her here?

If I read your post correctly, you are visiting your sister?  What a great add on to a vacation.  Woman Wink

Yes, there's a glimmer in my eye. This has been pretty incredible!

Yes  I will follow up with my sisters pics. The appt is on 11-21. We will be there with bells. She had to wait for a coldsore to heal and is good to go now. She's been helping me with some medical related  logistics and we've gotten together every month since early summer. Sometimes it's like a vacation, others not, but overall pretty great!

I have not had RHA lip injections. I have had lots of fever blisters and said I would avoid lip injection to avoid more pain to my lips. .

You look good. Your lips are very natural looking.

@Iwantcoffee

Yes, fever blisters and ,RHA are not compatible. That's why my sister had to wait for her procedure. The Aesthetician was abundantly clear about that. She doesn't want to risk any spreading.

I've had botox for migraines and a little tweak for my folks 50th anniversary but that was 22 years ago. So this is the first cosmetic procedure since then.

I think you look great both ways.  The lips seem just right, not overdone like so many "celebrities" have done.

@Puppy Lips

Lol, I think my before pic looks like a mug shot.😖😆 But thanks for the compliment.

  • I think those overly pumped up lips look so unnatural and frankly weird.🐡🐠 Definitely not my cup of tea.

 Wow, thanks for sharing! You look beautiful and your lips look so natural. I'm really against the trout mouth look but I'd never guess you had anything done.

  In the after picture the corners of your lips are actually turned up, is this because you're smiling a little or is that the filler?

@GingerHead

Thank you kindly.

My intention was to look natural.

No filler in the corner of my mouth but the outer corners of my lower lip had lost all the volume and looked so awful to me. No amount of lip liner could remedy that loss. The liner did help somewhat but it was just the center portion of my lower lip that had any, and not too much fullness, leaving me with that kewpie doll type of appearance. Which btw, the outer corners and moving center has been getting worse as well. My bottom lip has had the most drastic change.

I had a tiny amount of botox in the cheek muscle the controls the downward turn of our mouth. This may be what you're seeing in addition to my slight smile.

Good for you! You look wonderful! Such a nice little boost of confidence, isn't it? I had a q-lift a few years back. Noone notices a difference except me. I have much less sagging of the jowl  area than I had. Sometimes having a little something done works wonders for our spirits. Here's hoping that it lasts for eighteen months!

@Sawn

Thank you! I'm not familiar with the Q Lift but I'm thrilled it worked so well for you!  I discussed my lower face with my Aesthetician too. Currently I'm struggling to get my thyroid regulated and one of the side affects has been weight gain. We both agreed to wait until it's under control and revisit this area at that time. I greatly appreciated the prudence expressed in our conversation.

I hope this procedure lasts a good long while too. And it definitely has boosted my confidence. How could it not! Love it!!!

@rochelleS   congratulations on finding RHA!  The best and I believe it will end up being the winner.  I think it is from Switzerland.

I have been using it for 2 years.  And yes it is much better than Allergan (juverderm, restalyne, etc).

Your lips look nice and I used it a touch on mine because one side is a bit more crooked after a youthful car accident....lol.

Anyway, it won't last a year and a half but I can tell you it should last 9-12 months.

It depends upon your body type.  Everyone is different.  I'm skinny, tall and I go through it very fast.  Yes, poor me on this one.  So I last 8 or 9 months with RHA but it was much worse with Restalyne, etc.  My quick body type just ate it up.

Did you just have it done?  I don't see much bruising as lips are so veinous.  They are the worst for bruises.

I'm sorry didn't have the time to go through all the other answer's here.

But excited someone else can attest to RHA and how lovely it is-- YAY!

PS.  Again, please, it is all about the injector as well.  Please do not go to just anyone.  One syinge is 850.00 - in some states probably 750.00.  Not cheap but so worth it.

Plus you don't leave swollen so you can almost see what you will look like the next day.  Wonderful. Smiley Happy

@Pink123

Thank you kindly. I truly appreciate your comments especially having used/using RHA yourself.

The picture I posted was taken by my Aesthetician right after the injections were completed. I posted it soon afterwards.

I had one teeny, teeny tiny sot of blood on my upper lip from one of the injections. Barely visible and shortly disappeared. No biggie. There was swelling as seen in the after picture but definitely nothing grotesque or unnatural. Absolutely no bruising .The novocaine cream  wearing off was the most disconcerting for me. I feel the same after dental procedures too.

My lips were dry for awhile, much more than what I experience. Extra moisturizer helped.

It'll be a month and I notice one side of my lips has lessened some compared to the initial photo. I'm probably more sensitive to this than others who don't know the difference but I'm seeing the Aesthetician on 11-21 and will be addressing this then. My sister is having her lips done as well so it'll be another interesting and exciting day for sure.

I'd be happy if this lasts close to a year. I have no idea how I will metabolize the RHA. Time will tell. Low thyroid has greatly slowed my whole system down and I don't know if that'll have any effect. So currently I am very much an opposite of you...much shorter, and chunky from this hormone imbalance.

I'll let you and everyone else know how the next appt goes and will share my sister's B&A. 💋❤️💋

Hi @rochelleS   Yes that can happen when swelling wear's off and you see something is not in sync with our lips.

Don't worry, they will fix it. Just make sure you show them exactly what your concern is.

Let me know. Cheers!
