Finally! I used up an ancient Jessica Simpson Dessert Treats shower gel (lollipop) at the kitchen sink and replaced it today with a philosophy fragrance that I can't take into the shower with me because I hate it. And I've hated it for a very long time -- which explains why it's been sitting in the linen closet for years. Melting marshmallow!
I still can't detect the marshmallow; all I smell is hot chocolate. But it works for washing my hands and there's a winter design on the bottle. I can now make this go away.

For all the ladies that want to buy a little something. I am with you. My latest urge has been one of the naked palettes. The colors look so pretty. I dont know why though, this is yesterdays news, right, but I saw it again the other day and went hmmm. That hasnt happened to me in awhile now. But, I am not splurging. I dont even use what I have.
Just Bee, you continue to impress me with your schooling. I wish I had your discipline and drive. I am impressed you went back to get another degree. Good luck.
I am now sitting in my dining room with another layer of items I am decluttering. I cant wait to get this stuff out of the house, I am starting to not be able to move my chairs. It really is amazing what I choose to let go of as I go along. What I would tell my 20 year old self - dont go for the retail therapy.

Thank you for this thread. And also for your wonderful pictures. I hope all you ladies are happy and well and starting where you are, using what you have, doing what you can.Coffeebean33! Just a quick note to say that I added your mantra to the list above. It's a goodie.
It works for me! I'm so glad that I've been digging in my closets for things I already have instead of shopping for new items that I don't need. Better-half definitely needed something for that dinner the other night, but the prices were right. A guy has to have a decent suit in the closet and his was a little snug, so now he has one that fits.
I have plenty of dressy clothes so I was fine. I thought I'd go to Ulta and look for something to put on my head to hold all my hair back -- a clip or barrette. I ended up just getting it all cut off and felt it was the right decision after I looked at the prices of hair accessories. Boy, am I cheap!

Discipline and drive, eh? I'm sitting here avoiding homework! But I'm totally with you on what I'd tell my 20 year-old self. In fact, I would have wanted to have a talk with an even younger version of myself. Why did I ever feel it was necessary to buy so much stuff?

Still working on it here, as well. I dropped off 2 prs of new shoes at the women's shelter, that I will never wear. I was so glad to drop them off. I have also talked myself out of the IT TSV. I don't need any cosmetics, at all. I can only assume that I felt the need to buy something, so I went grocery shopping and made a great pot of chicken soup. JustBee, you are really amazing. In addition to all your school work, you keep us all on track.

Even though I rarely post here, I often enjoy reading all of your posts on this thread! I enjoy reading about your successes, thoughts, tips, and ideas! You are all so smart and clever! Felt successful yesterday...did not order any It Cosmetics, even though I had several things in and out of my cart throughout the day...feeling fairly in control w/beauty products in general right now...have too much of everything...using what I already have...now, jewelry is another story...

Well the pants I ordered from HSN the other day are going back. Too small even though I ordered true to size. Thanks to compacting I don't feel the need to replace them. I'll take my time and make do with my other pairs in my closet.
On a happier note, I organized my necklaces. I put them on some hooks in my closet. They look nice and I will remember to wear them when I go out.
Hope everyone is having a great week!

I was far from perfect in September (or any other month, for that matter) but am making purchases so much for thoughtfuly than I was at this time one year ago. I don't post often, but do love to read everyone's progress for inspiration to stay on track

I am still working on getting through a lot of products. For some reason, I just dont care to use a ton of stuff on my face any longer so things are just sitting around. I think I will start to use some stuff on my legs and feet so I can get rid of the bottles and jars.

You never know when a product will start bothering you or in combination with another. So, I am down to two facial cleansers. My dhc oil cleanser and my neutrogena natural cleanser. I started using the oil cleanser at night again, had gotten lazy, and the other one in the morning. The neutrogena cleanser started burning my face a bit and brings out my redness. It has never done that before. I have used about half of the bottle. This started happening around the same time I started using my oil cleanser at night about 3 days ago. I cant imagine what one has to do with the other but you never know. Anyhoo, it was a good reminder to not stockpile items because you never know when you will start to get reactions from them. Although, I have to tell you, my need to stockpile has diminished and I am so grateful. This ia a great point! For me, it's not so much about irritation developing, but finding a product that works better than the previously "perfect" product that I felt the need to stockpile. This has happened to me more times than I can say, then I end up having to use the stockpiled product for 2 years to get rid of it. A wise poster (just bee?) convinced be there will always be another sale, so no need to stockpile. Of couse, I still stockpile if a product is being discontinued ;-)I am still working on getting through a lot of products.
