Happy Weekend, ComPactors!
DL, what a wonderful trip that must have been! The oils sound wonderful.
I am going to pick up a new mascara over the weekend. I'm not quite out but it is starting to take a bit more work to do my lashes so it is about time.
I need to look for a couple lipsticks. I need a long lasting one in a shade with just a bit more color than my lips. I tried a nice one from Sephora over the summer but it sure got used up fast. At $25 it needs to last at least as long as the cheap ones. I also need a deeper reddish brown one or something a bit dressier but that will go with most things.
I have been doing so good at not buying things I don't need but I am facing my annual BE temptation!
I am once again finding myself tempted to get the BE November/Holiday kit. I definitely don't need it but it sounds nice if the shadows are not too shimmery. I have not purchased any kits or blushes & eyeshadows in ages. My last makeup kit was the April 2013 AD of the BE BEautifully Brilliant Holiday Collection. I use it a lot. I also bought bronzing Mineral Veil in April 2013 & that was a good purchase. I still use it every day.
I have a pretty small makeup collection, mostly BE, compared to most but I can probably live w/o getting more. Little pots of mineral shadows & blushes last almost forever. The things I need to replace regularly are mascara, eyebrow pencil, and lipstick.
Oh! I hit pan on my tarte blush! Normally you'd think this was a good thing but not really. It is my only blush in a palette. All my other ones (I think I have 6) are BE loose minerals. I like having one palette for travel & when I am in a hurry. The good news is that it will take months to actually use up the tarte blush. At that point, sometime next year, I will buy another palette blush.

Just Bee, I love looking at the pictures you posted from the balloon festival! I will need to remember the festival in the future and try to get out there. I liked your suggestions for what to do with fragrances to get more use out of them. Very helpful!
DL2843, I would say it's ok to buy on a trip to Morocco! It's not like you can just drive there a week later to get something you didn't pick up on your trip. The closest I have been to Morocco is at Epcot. I bet it was beautiful!
Mewsmomtoo - I am sorry about the vet tech pursuit. Hopefully another door will open soon! If you need to sell your textbooks, I would definitely try on eBay. They have a sister site half.com and you should be able to get a really good price on the resale.
So far this month I have been doing fairly well. I finished a serum that I received in April and I can see the entire bottom of a cream blush container. I am just working on the little bit that's left on the sides. It will be a first if I finish the entire container.

Willdob3, Congrats on all the restraint you have shown! That's really great! Depending on the kind of person you are, if buying a new BE kit will satisfy that craving so that you don't find yourself buying several other things then you should consider it. On the other hand, if buying that kit will just re-open the flood gates and start you on a buying binge, then stay far, far away!
I liken it to foods - I love hot dogs and every few months I can buy one at a local hot dog place and I am good to go. I also love Kettle Chips potato chips, but if I buy even a small bag of them, bam! I am off and running and it takes me weeks to get off the chip wagon! So better to just never eat them
I haven't bought lipstick in a while, but when I did I found Clinique's lasted quite a while and, surprisingly, so do Avon's! You don't have to find an Avon lady anymore. Just go online at Avon.com and they will find you one to order from or you can order direct from the company. They used to send samples if you request them, I'm sure they probably still do.
Hi Just Bee, as happens to many of us, real life gets in the way - now it is my father's Alzheimers and trying to coach my mom on how to deal with him, among other things. I just had to realize that I don't have time to do the Vet Tech program through the community college and I don't have the money to do it through one of the private colleges. I would be done and out if I did have the money, but they charge around $30 grand!!! (it's closer to 10 grand at the comm.coll.) I am not a young woman and it would have taken me the rest of my life to pay off $30,000. Vet techs aren't well-paid in the first place.
One thing I did find out in the course of completing the pre-reqs for the program. I CAN do math and I actually enjoy it. I barely made it through freshman algebra when I went to college the first time and always thought I was just stupid when it came to math. It's nice to know that I am not
(I was always among the last to finish my exams, but at least I got the answers right)
Kns110 - thanks for the half.com suggestion, I will check it out!

I went to a lotion/potion store and went a bit crazy, but I have been loving my purchases. All the lotions have made my hands so soft. I wonder what ingredient is in them that is missing in American products. The downside is the fragrance is strong and perfumey. I have discovered that since my stash is stable and down to those HG products, I no longer get that satisfied feeling from using up a product. My school has once again gotten tough on no scents which is frustrating since I have several open bottles of perfume that I want to use. I have the right amount for daily use, but being limited to weekend use now means I have a five year or more stash. UGH!
DL2843, we went to Agadir about ten years ago. I didn't get any lotions, athough the hotel we stayed at had a Sheseido display. I wish I would have thought to go to beauty supply store. I purchased a nice leather bag there which got stolen when we went to Euro Disney. Bah! Hope you had a great time there!
Bee: The balloon pictures are spectacular! Thank you for sharing them.
Well I made some purchases this month. I purchased the Yummie TS yoga pants. I can't make up my mind yet if they are going back as they are a tiny bit snug. I also bought a pair off ebay since they were a lot less expensive. I've been losing weight so these have replaced some others. I have a very small wardrobe since I am retired and mostly stay at home.
I also purchased some Kirks folly earrings since it had been years since I bought a pair of casual earrings and I was down to one that needs repair. They are a bit blingy than I am used to, but they are cute. Each pair was around 4 or 5 dollars since they are going out of business. I also bought a pumpkin necklace for Halloween (that's my excuse. Lol)
Hope everyone is doing well.

I hear ya! I paid for my ASN out of what's supposed to be my retirement savings -- and now I'm paying for a BSN. My tuition at a California university was $69 a quarter. Yes, you read that right. Of course, that was back in the late 70s-early 80s. But I could buy all my books for under $100. Now that won't buy half a paperback.
Be careful: It was my mother's Alzheimer's that made me consider nursing school.

Better-half and I had to go to a Nursing Excellence Awards dinner last night and it was a formal event. An opportunity to shop, right? It would have been the perfect excuse to go out and buy a sparkly dress and a new pair of shoes. I refused to do it.
Better-half needed a new outfit but Macy's had a killer sale in the men's department. Ended up costing less than a tux rental. I was lucky because I was able to pull a long dress and heels out of the closet. Had the jewelry. The only issue was my hair. At the last minute I ran out and had it all cut off. But it needed to be done.
It's funny that I had something to wear. It's because when I'd have to go to some event I'd end up buying two or three outfits because I could never decide on one. Now I have a collection of dressy clothes that are almost new. I'm really glad I didn't buy anything because I'd be kicking myself right now!

I have to bump this thread up for tomorrow. Help ladies. I don't need any beauty products, but I keep looking at the IT TSV for tomorrow. I hope it sells out quickly. I keep reading all the posts about it, have looked at it so many times. Please tell me how insane this is. Thanks for being here. I don't even have room for it.

Just a quick note to say that I added your mantra to the list above. It's a goodie.

It works for me! I'm so glad that I've been digging in my closets for things I already have instead of shopping for new items that I don't need. Better-half definitely needed something for that dinner the other night, but the prices were right. A guy has to have a decent suit in the closet and his was a little snug, so now he has one that fits.
I have plenty of dressy clothes so I was fine. I thought I'd go to Ulta and look for something to put on my head to hold all my hair back -- a clip or barrette. I ended up just getting it all cut off and felt it was the right decision after I looked at the prices of hair accessories. Boy, am I cheap!
