The thing is you shouldn't have to use the remote. This wouldn't happen in a store, and it shouldn't happen on a shopping channel.

Selling religion on the Q is soapy sappy and idiotic. We can not discuss it here on the forums.....why are they selling it on the air?

It doesn't bother me. It also doesn't change a non sale into a sale.

Totally agree with you. Truly spiritual people don't need to proselytize, they don't "talk the talk, they walk the walk."
Also the hosts are working in a very very mercenary job, getting people to buy things, whether they need or can afford them.
IMHO that's as far away from spiritual as one can get.

FREE SPEECH, does not bother me.

I don't see how this is "free speech".
The host may, or may not, personally believe all they need to say about such products, but they are assigned the item to hawk.
I think such items are totally inappropriate on a shopping channel, and do cause me to use the remote.

I find the use of religion or even spirituality as a sales tactic disconcerting and inappropriate.

I brought this up many months ago on another thread related to religious items. I think if political threads are zapped by mods at Q, the spirituality of the hosts should be moderated as well. On a public shopping channel (not listed as a religious channel), religion and politics do not have a place. Yes sell a cross or My Saint My Hero bracelet, but keep the sales pitch to details of the product, origin, materials used, etc. This is not the platform for personal hosts' religious inputs about the product or their religious beliefs. Yes, I can mute or FF. These buttons are wearing out on my remote. Maybe it's time for the Q to read our posts so that their programming is not offensive to some of us.

Times were different - there's a great effort of inclusion now where it was maybe an afterthought back then.

we have had months of Christmas, a religious holiday, promotion on the shopping channel airwaves. disconcerting or inappropriate? Christmas isn't everyone's holiday. but in this great country, i think we can take or avoid what we wish to consume without others telling us what is appropriate. i am able to make my own choices and treasure that freedom.
