I agree the remote is a wonderful tool - turn it off - mute it - change the channel..... and then FORGET ABOUT IT. I never get why the posters here always hold onto such minute ridiculous tiny small things and stew over them.

The hosts are hired to push products, to get me to buy the item.  To get me to "need" it enough to buy it.  I understand this and personally, when they use religion or "spirituality" to help hawk these products, I really resent it and I DO turn the channel.  Religion and how I feel about it is deeply personal and private.  Not only do I turn the channel on sales people using this tactic (and I find it a 100% sales tactic even if the host believes deeply in what they are saying).... I also turn off actual shows with preachers in my face with their interpretation of religion..

But I definitely feel that prothletising can definitely be a huge turn off for many, many people..... which in turn is a huge turn off for a sales person.

Many of us do change the channel.  Witness the decline in sales that QVC is whinging about.   Many of us changed the channel during all the christmas programming, too.

The first amendment / freedom of speech means freedom from government prosecution. Unless the police are escorting a QVC host off the set for something she or he said on the air, it has nothing to do with this conversation.

I don't watch much Qvc Tv, so I have not noticed that.  A few of the JTV hosts are like that.  It's turn off to me.  Bringing religion, faith or politics into business relationships is inapporpriate.   But with a shopping channel, it's just another marketing ploy.

I don't watch when hosts start talking about religion or they're selling crosses and bibles. I also don't read host blog posts about religion.

I won't watch or buy anything from Shawn or Dan Wheeler, period.

I do not care for the religious talk regarding anything.  Furthermore, I don't want to be "blessed" by a television host selling products.  There is plenty of religious programming if I care to be "blessed" or listen to talk regarding religion.  I find it really offputting.  I do turn the channel and there are a couple of hosts that I will not watch, this being one of the many reasons.

Selling religion on the Q is soapy sappy and  idiotic. We can not discuss it here on the forums.....why are they selling it on the air?

It is indeed a double standard.  I don't how deep they get into their faith stuff but I know when the JTV hosts do it, I flip the station.....and I don't go back.  If I want a sermon or a blessing, I go church.  I don't go shopping...lol

Nice to hear it.  But this conversation isn't about free speech.  It's not about elephants and gum drops either.
