He'll be running the place in no time.

I just picked him up Friday afternoon and spent that whole night sleepless just knowing I had made a huuuge mistake. He was absolutely terrified of everything.
But by the next day he was starting to come to me with a little coaxing and has been improving every day since. Thankfully, he's very food motivated. He's terribly scrawny and I think he might have rickets, but he has a little pot belly that is bottomless. In fact, he's so bottom heavy that if he's leaning on something he can sit up just like those kitten videos.
He's already running me, the other two occupants are not as easily swayed.

Not wormy, is he?
I've always been fond of the basic gray cat. Mabel appeared when I was in college. She had extra toes; her feet were like catcher's mitts. Her kittens all had a different number of toes. She failed to mention that she was pregnant when I let her into my home.
Jeannie was tiny and had a little white chin like your new kitten. My sister had two nicknames for her: Crazy Jeannie and The Chinless Wonder.
There was also a Mark. He was all gray except for a small white mark on his chest.
There was Heather, who stationed herself on my parents' restaurant coffeemaker and glared at everyone.
Alex. A handsome cat but terrified of everything. I took him in when I lived in my college apartment. There was a no-pet policy and I couldn't convince him to stay out of the window. Had to move. That's when Mabel showed up.
And there were many others... but not gray.

I've been debating with myself for months about getting another cat after my ten-year-old had to be euthanized unexpectedly back in November. I had pretty much decided 'no', but my three-year-old cat seemed to be missing having another cat around.
My friend fosters at our local animal shelter and had been helping out with the cats because they are short of help right now. She was pleading with me to take a different kitten that she was worried about and she just happened to catch me at a time that I felt decent for a few days so I went down to the shelter. The kitten she wanted me to take was absolutely adorable (a little tabby with white feet and chest), but boy, was he a handful! I just didn't think my cat or I could handle that one when he grew up.
This little guy was in the back just quietly watching everything. We visited a while and he seemed to like people but was much calmer and I thought he'd be a better fit.
They guess he's about nine weeks old, but obviously very small for his age. He was brought in by animal control (someone found him abandoned on their property) at what they estimated was four weeks old. He's been hand raised at the shelter since, so he's used to people.
Definitely an unintended hiccup in my life.
@geezeretteWell that is the sweetest hiccup I've ever seen. What is his name?

Possibly. His records show he was wormed only once a few days after he arrived at the shelter, so that was quite a while ago. He has a vet appointment tomorrow and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get another dose. He needs to be checked for anything else that could be contagious too before the other cat can get too close or into his boxes.
Youre is quite a cat history! I've only had the two before this little guy and one years ago when I was a kid. So cats are still kind of new to me. Yours sound like they all had unforgettable personalities.❤️
By the way, I tried the "pet in a no pet apartment" thing too. Didn't last long.

Right now it's just "Little Brother" and "Big Brother".
Weird, because just recently Big Brother was the little brother.

I was a cat person before I became a dog person. Shhh. Let's just keep that between us.
But that is one fine-looking kitten.

I really had my heart set on a tuxedo for sentimental reasons. I could have waited a few weeks because they have several litters that are too young to be adopted right now. But this little guy seemed to be a little less than "perfect" and was being overlooked. Since I already have two "special" kids, I figured another would fit right in.
Once he grows up a little and gets some decent nutrition I think he'll be quite a looker. Right now his coat feels like sandpaper. At least he's not long haired like Big Brother. That may have been a deal breaker.

@geezerette, aw, he is a looker.😍😍 I just want to give him a kiss. 🥰🥰
i hope he is ok and I have no doubt you will get him beefed up in no time.
Enjoy your new addition. He is a keeper.
