@Tinkrbl44  Bingo! I was always the tiny girl in the group and loved being her and getting all the attention from the guys growing up. The jocks in highschool and college would pick me up and carry me around on their shoulders. I had my pick of boyfriends and my husband is handsome and successful, so there are some men who prefer petite women.  Yes, at my age I sadly must pass the baton to this beautiful tiny girl who my son is lucky enough to be involved with and bring into our family.

I am five feet seven and a half inches tall. Now I have legs with a thirty six inch inseam and have had them since I was twelve years old. Growing up everyone and even as an adult people comment on how long my legs are. Now when I was young it annoyed me when people would always be commenting about them. My Dad told me this and from then on it never bothered me again! " your legs are no longer than anyone elses' legs. They reach from your butt to the ground!" LOL LOL  Then all of a sudden people started commenting on how they envied my long model legs and of course I started viewing them as an asset. So yes small and petite is wonderful but we all have that one thing that just stands out to others and that they wish they had.

You must have a very small body if you are only 5'7" and wear a 36inseam. I am 5'10" and wear a 32 inseam which is what many brands call a tall inseam. At 5'7" after you subtract 3ft or 36" that only leaves 2'7" for the entire rest of your body. I am thinking you must be mistaken.

I love being tall, 5'9 to 6' depending on the heels!

Most of my short friends want to be taller!

Now I know why tall women don't necessarily like to hang with petite women. My son is dating a darling exotic looking petite woman who is almost 5ft tall.I'm only 5ft 3 and I'm a small size, but not a size 0 like she is, I feel like a cow next to her.

@blackhole99 ... I'm sure you look lovely being 5/3" and size small.

@Yardlie I would like to think that, but it's been my experience that appearances mean more than we'd like to think. I was once told by a new friend that she almost wrote me off because she didn't like the sound of my voice. I know you can lower the sound or change the tone some, but the voice is as much a part of your identity as your height. I am no longer friends with that woman. I do admire a good looking person, but I do not consider myself shallow and have never chosen friends solely because of their looks or the sound of their voice.

@blackhole99 ... I kind of understand what you are saying. If a person is slovenly, dirty, or smelly, it definitely makes a bad first impression. Maybe they have just been doing yard work. I wouldn't go anywhere looking like that, but if someone stopped by, I would just joke..."I don't always look this way!"

You might notice the sound of someone's voice the first time you meet them, but then you sort of just learn to accept it. I admire a good looking person also, but what if everything they say is foul or narcissistic? I change my opinion of that type of person very quickly...no matter how nicely they are dressed, how pretty their hair is, or how beautiful their face is.

I have never thought that Sarah Jessica Parker was an attractive person...even though she has gorgeous hair, a wonderful figure, and dresses beutifully. Then one day, I saw an interview of her on tv. I think she has the most beautiful personality of any famous person I have ever seen. I changed my opinion of her very quickly. Even though she may not have the most attractive face in the world, I now see her as one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen. Other people just open wide and insert foot!

I have yet to meet a woman under 5'5" who wouldn't want to have a few more inches. Why do they wear 3" heels??  The OP's posting is her opinion but not shared by many.

Men always go for the tall ladies, even if they are shorter. How many short celebrities who could date anyone have a tall model on their arms. So much for "cows."

You just have, my height is just fine and I very rarely wear heels

Tall, short,  thin or not thin, I'm only interested in the person you are.  I'm 5-5 and thin and I feel tall with some of my short friends but it doesn't bother any of us.

I'm 6'1" and wear high heels most of the time. Not going to lie; I feel like Amazon Queen next to my petite friends; especially if I'm the only tall woman in the bunch.

WHen I was in college and played basketball, we had a short player: Mitchie who stood 5'4". Considering we were all 6 ft and up, she hated standing next to us during a conversation; her neck would hurt looking up at us all the time. She would say " I feel like a freaking Lilliputians next to you guys!"

It runs both ways. : )

@Yardlie  see that just goes to show you beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder, I think SJP is the most gorgeously interesting looking woman I have ever seen. I would love to look and be built like her. I was a S-x in the City addict forever and still watch the reruns and I even have the movies on DVD.LOL Oh, to be able to wear the fashions she wore on that show, the hair and I loved the way she walked on her toes when she was barefoot. If I'm honest I must say I like everything smaller not just people, it's just my preference, just like some people prefer everything bigger. It's when people hold their preferences against others that cause problems and I don't do that.
