Now I know why tall women don't necessarily like to hang with petite women. My son is dating a darling exotic looking petite woman who is almost 5ft tall.I'm only 5ft 3 and I'm a small size, but not a size 0 like she is, I feel like a cow next to her.

Huh? I happen to be 6 ft tall and some of my best friends are 5 ft 2 or less. They dont seem to have a problem hanging out or partying with me visa versa. No I dont feel like a cow next to any of them....come to think of it some of them wish I could let them borrow a few inches of my height which I would gladly oblige if I knew how LOL. No prejudices or stereotypes here. cute antedote though but I am sure she doesnt wish to make you feel bad or self conscious. I guess I dont compare myself to anyone else......oh to be 30 again. Oh my.... so sorry you feel that way.....

One of my best friends is Japanese and very tiny.... and I'm Scots/Irish/English, 5'8" and a L/XL and I can't say I've ever felt like that next to her, I've admired how tiny she is (she's so cute and looks like a little doll) and she's told me she admired my height and loves that I can reach anything I want.... LOL!  We're actually two peas in a pod, very alike in important ways..... and I'm sure you'll feel the same once you get to know your son's girlfriend, I'm sure she's a doll as well....

I think calling someone out for their height is sort of like making notes about their weight.  A fact that is not necessary to bring up.

Now ladies I didn't mean for my comment to be a negative for tall women and I never  said I didn't like my son's girlfriend because she was so petite, I admire her physical appearence. I guess using the word cow to describe my feelings wasn't the best choice of words.

I'm 5'4" and would give anything to be tall. Tall women look better in clothes and just elegant in general.

I read the OP's post and felt like she was posting as 'tongue in cheek'.

That means she was being silly and sarcastic.  Like if I said I only want to hang out with old people instead of a young person because the young person makes me feel and look old.

I might be wrong but I think it's nicer to think that way about the OP than to think she'd be busting on someone.  Just saying.  I never notice people's moniker so I have no idea how this person usually posts, for the record.

I'm 5 ft 9 inches.  I love being tall.  I've never felt awkward of self conscious.  It's in my genes.  Both parents and their families were tall.

You sound like a small lady yourself. I'm sure you wouldn't want someone standing next to you and thinking they're a cow,  But I get what you're saying!  Smiley Happy
