@SharkE wrote:Rudest post that ever was said about me was when I started posting again, but, not as much as I used to. I had this one gal to say "why are you back, sharke, we don't want you in here, nobody likes you".
I stayed just to aggravate her. LOL If I dared to be that rude to some one
mods would had poofed it and banned me .
@SharkE. Well, that is not true! I am glad you are back as I enjoy your posts.

Thank you, hun. I think Q should either ban them for being bullies or allow us to come out and defend ourselves.
Should be a fair playing field is what I'm trying to say.

@SharkE. Don't know if you did but you should have reported it. The mods don't have time to read every thread here so they don't see all of the nasty posts.

Believe me I'm not a shy Di I've reported a few in my day. I take up for others if I think they're being mistreated I'll turn them in to the mods in a New York minute.
I really can't remember if I turned her in or not. Not easy to shock me, but, man she was just plain mean. That kind of venom is not justified. No wonder the world is messed up right now. People wasn't like that or wasn't allowed to be like that back when I was growing up.

LOL I wish I could learn to do that.
@BalletBabe I take bullies seriously. Even though I come across as opinionated, confident and outgoing, I also have another side. My feelings do get hurt and admit sometimes, I feel vulnerable. Somehow, these women can tell these moments and swoop in w/ cutting words.
@Shanus...take breaks and just read. It is an entirely different experience and you will see patterns and avoid the posters you share nothing in common with. If addressed ignore is your best option.
Sorry to read you were hurt here. Life is tough enough without anonymous strangers impacting your life...

Comes to mind something Prince Charles said one time when asked
what does he deplore the most in people and he said:
"Rudeness to your fellow man". I concur.

Interesting thread.
In my county, there are now required classes for grades 1-8 on how to use the internet with manners. How to respond to questions, participate in discussions online and make your opinion known without being rude, sarcastic, toxic, mean. One of the things I've told my boys is if you respond online the same way you would respond in person, you won't have any issues.
I often think about this when I read threads on assorted forums: the level of sarcasm; the back-handed compliments; the snark; the overall toxic replies make me wonder if this is how the person is in real life/face to face with people or if hiding behind the screen gives them an excuse for being such a....jerk. I pity those who are unable to be civil; to respond with having to always add some type of a jab to the OP or whomever else they are responding too; what sad and empty lives they must live if they believe their behavior is acceptable in any way.
Mods are often unaware of the toxic snark that goes on until they are notified; poof goes the comment or the thread. The world is toxic enough that having to go somewhere to escape and then deal with such individuals makes it a place you don't wish to be; the mods are simply cleaning up the mess. The are plenty of other places one can go if they wish to be a jerk; I wish they'd go and not return. Since that doesn't happen, I wish the forum offered a block button; it's the next best thing to eliminating one of those types from being a part of your conversation.
Until people begin to find their manners and use them online and/or a block button becomes available, we either ignore, pass over or report those that enjoy causing chaos/hurting others because they enjoy it. Or, leave.
