@house_cat

I've done this twice.  Once just recently after having posted a question in "Among Friends."  Just a question, mind you, and several women posted very unkind and unwanted comments, none of which were answers to my one question.  So...I went over to "Customer Care" and started a topic.  My topic heading was something to the effect of asking the mods to please delete my topic over here, as I had asked a question and was receiving non-answers to the question, which were snarky and negative remarks.  It was removed (in both instances).

Not coming here again, which is supposed to be "Among Friends."  Right...

             @house_cat@sfnative,  The quickest way to get the moderators' attention if you want your own thread removed or closed is to use the "Report Inappropriate" feature  on your own original post at the beginning of the thread.

            In the pop-up box that asks why you're reporting, tell them you are the OP and explain your request to them.    That action will flag the thread immediately, as opposed to waiting for them to see a new thread or post requesting their assistance.

@dooBdoo is right.  I've had my own threads deleted here, after asking the mods to step in.

So many of them became personal attacks, rather than positive discussions.

Thanks to the mods for being aware that this happens, and fixing it when necessary.

In my mind, I've often thought that "Among Friends" is often more like "Among Fiends"!

There are some very angry and aggressive posters on this board!  I say that tongue in cheek.  Lots of good people here,too.

I make no bones about my perception that the 'old' boards were far, far preferable to the current homogenized version and that the boards are both over-moderated and unevenly moderated. The bottom line, unfortunately, is it's a 'take it or leave it' kind of thing. I'm still here, though I do hope to one day see positive change.

Someone recently asked a question about buying from Etsy and now I notice that thread is gone. I wonder why that topic was not allowed.

Rudest post that ever was said about me was when I started posting again, but, not as much as I used to. I had this one gal to say "why are you back, sharke, we don't want you in here, nobody likes you".

I stayed just to aggravate her. LOL   If I dared to be that rude to some one

mods would had poofed it and banned me .

@speedy girl  Q doesn’t love references to other sites or retailers. If mods can catch the posts, they’re deleted. Competition, right?

@SharkE  Good for you. I try my best to ignore nasty posters, but they’re multiplying way too quickly. It must be easier to knife someone in the back anonymously than if they had to say it something to your face. They’re bullies behind a computer screen are most likely meek and troubled in person.

When I can no longer look away from particular posters who seem to live to insult me here, I will respond w/ an equally snarky remark or report the post. It’s worth being banned a few days just to let them know, “Yes, you’re there, but your remarks are nasty, mean, immature and have no merit here”.
