Re: "cut" on ball of my foot

1. Are you diabetic? Diabetics often suffer from wounds that won't heal.

2. Is there a possibility that you stepped on something and have a foreign body imbedded in your foot?

I agree with other posters who suggest you see your health care provider.

Re: "cut" on ball of my foot

I am not diabetic

I have had this slash on my foot for a long time, at times it is more annoying than others.

I do not think I stepped on anything.

I hav however been under a huge amount of stress both physical and emotional

I do not have an md or a poditrist at the moment

Re: "cut" on ball of my foot

[ Edited ]

Several years ago it seemed like I had a cut across the bottom of my foot along the top of of ball of my foot.  Tried everything and it got no better. Starting watching Isomers after reading all the comments here on the board.  First thing was to change soaps use only Isomers which is ph balanced for the skin and started using the Cooper P and the Redensify and it healed it.

Don't let the people scrub or pumice your feet, soak in their soaps or use their lotions.

eta - I agree with other posters stopping the pedi's.. So many are addicted to that and mani's - totally understand but never got into that as much as I love the look.. Grease or vaseline won't work on it and cotton absorbs more moisture away.  It could be your nerves, psoriasis, eczema or just an allergic reaction.  Many get it on their feet only.  Excessive pain like you are saying is something that should be address so you don't make it worse and seeing any dr or nurse assistant may give you immediate relief physicallly and mentally.

You need to go to a wound care center.

@I am still oxox Please consider going to an urgent care clinic, since you say you don't have a doc.  You might be able to get some temporary relief, as well as a competent medical opinion.

Re: "cut" on ball of my foot

@I am still oxox So sorry! If I were you I would make an appointment with a Podiatrist as they specialize. In the meantime, go to your Pharmacist & she will reco. something for you. I have to see a Podiatrist once every 6 wks. because I was a dancer and this sometimes happens more that often. I have Keratosis Palmanris et Plantarts, technical I know, its basically a corn that grow deeply inside the ball of my foot  & if not treated, it is very painful. I had them on both feet but now on only one. My last 2 toes are so webbed so that is the problem. There is an operation that might work or not  where they fracture those toes to straighten them out but I opted out. I don't get pedicures any more for that reason. I learned to do my own. I hope that you get the relief and treatment that will heal it. Smiley Happy

Please see a doctor as soon as possible.  Skin dryness and cuts that won't heal may be symptoms of diabetes.  Go to a clinic.  Stay away from pedicures and home remedies.

@I am still oxox  This could be bad.  I would go to a derm.

Re: "cut" on ball of my foot

Here's another vote for getting to the doctor ASAP and suspending your pedicures until your wound has healed. Regarding your dry feet, get a good foot moisturizer and use it every night with cotton socks. I love L'Occitane's Foot Cream, but that can be pricey ($28 for a 5 ounce tube). A little goes a long way, but try using Vaseline if that will work better for you. If you take your shower in the morning (after moisturizing your feet overnight), be careful you don't slip getting into the shower. All of these moisturizers use some form of fat to lubricate your dry feet. These can get slippery when they come in contact with the wet tub/shower surface. Good luck!

Re: "cut" on ball of my foot

I was wondering what the person who does your pedicures (assuming you are a regular client of the same tech) thinks the 'cut' on your foot is?

I hope you can get this figured out and treated.  A doctor from a podiatry group affiliated with your local hospital would be a place to start if you do not have one or know someone who has one. Why worry and suffer?
