Got great news today. Saw my doc for a follow up on my recent blood work and my A1C is 5.6!!! I have typw 2

The standard NOW is 6.5 or less. We talked about those TV ads telling people to get it down to 7.1 and he has a real problem with that. I've also lost weight which is my intention and plan to keep on. He was very pleased with that as well. I am a HAPPY CAMPER!

@Love my grandkidsgood for you!

I know it's hard work to get it down into the pre-diabetic range, so you're now in the normal range.
When my husband was diagnosed last year, he started out at 11.6 within 4 months we were able to get him down to 5.9 and he's been that way for the past year.

@Kachina624Thank you, I actually DO feel different. I kind of felt I was doing better but to see it in print and hear it was so great!

Awesome!

Just an FYI everyone - an endocrinologist is going to want your A1C lower than a regular dr will.

@FranandZoeAt this time I have no need, per my PCP, to see an endo doc.

That's great news and I am happy for you. Throw in your weight loss, and I'd say things in your health department are going pretty danged well.

Just got back from seeing my Heart Doc. Nothing positive during that visit. Going to have another Echocardiogram next week to see if my Ejection Fraction(EF) numbers have gone up. If not, I will still be considered with Congestive Heart Failure(CHF).
