@Mmsfoxxie I am so sorry! I will blow some sage over this thread and hopefully our Mr. and Ms. Rudeness customers will go away!
And high five on the loud music. I stopped going to my spin class and started doing my own thing because I couldn't take the loud music anymore. I don't think the teachers take into account, they are facing away from the speakers but the class is right in front of it. Turn it down!

Happy Friday everyone, it's a chilly rainy and windy morning here, so not looking like outside is an option today. I'll just have to do my own thing in the house. Caught a little cold but it isn't too bad.
When I taught my classes ( back in the day) I only had a "boombox" I know that ages me haha but those only go so loud and nobody every mentioned it was too loud, probably the opposite for those in the back row. I've never attended anyone elses class but I don't like loud either. My husband has the car radio to loud I think but he is getting quite hard of hearing too. I'm constantly turning it down and the TV, it drives me nuts!
Lucy thank you for mentioning the Dansko, I"ll look. I'm happy your able to make trip plans, and praying everyone stays healthy. How exciting, house will be completed soon and you'll have your own space.
Laura I wouldn't like somebody crowding my space either and how the heck do people "drift" lol just watch where you are going!
Dr.Kelli music has changed so much since my days of teaching, but I think I had some pretty foot stompin stuff going when I needed it! Also had the very nice stretching music that kind of took you away!
Well I better get moving here, waving to everyone!

Hi everyone! Glad it's Friday! This week actually went pretty quickly. Next week, I will be at 2 of our plants (Monday and Thursday) so may not get to check in--and I will miss Zumba!
@Mmsfoxxie, I like loud music for the dance classes because I don't have to talk a lot, but I hope I don't keep it at pain level. There are no speakers--it is a sound system built into the room. But in classes where the instructor is talking--I do not like it that loud because I cannot hear the instructor. I don't think anyone has complained about it in class, but if someone came up to me and asked me to turn the music down a bit, I would.
Today, I have a personal trainer session (but only 30 minutes) at 10:30. He asked me to move from noon so he could meet with a new client. I'm happy to switch occasionally for him. He has done me the same favor and has moved clients so that he could come to the first Zumba class I taught on my own!
Hope you all have a great weekend! This is cooking weekend for me--I need to get back on a cleaner eating plan. I looked at a ketogenic cookbook last night and it seems to me that they use a lot of chemicals in baking, so I'll just be cutting out sugar on my own.

Good morning all. Thanks for the feedback on the loud music ladies. Once in a while, if I really can't stand it, I ask if it can be turned down a tad and it's done. But back up it goes the next time. Mainly it's my guy that does Zumba and Body & Sculpt on Tuesday. I still love his classes, though.
Gotta do my mammogram this morning but should be able to get to my Zumba class on time, the lady instructed one. Then, my walk.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Total Gym with R Brown done!
@ilovelucy the cement pond is a 10x20 pool and spa.....haha! Your house will probably be done before my pool! Had to stop work as we have to submit changes of planter box size to the city. Hopefully everything will be done by Halloween.
Have a great Saturday everyone!

Hello everyone, the last day of Setember, wow seems I was just waiting for April to arrive after such a long cold winter and here we are again. Today was beautiful, started off at 40 degrees and got to 60, clear blue skies too. Took a nice walk and raked pine needles. I think I could rake pine needles until the cows come home and there would stll be needles to clean up. Grilled burgers on the deck and it's so nice out. I don't like the sun setting at around 7:30 though and dark until close to 8 am..that I don't like. Then the first weekend of Nov we change the clocks again, wish the time would just stay as is.
Sounds like everyone is having a nice weekend. We may hike into a waterfall tomorrow, wait to see how the morning unfolds, hubby has to watch his Lions at 1 you know!
See ya round the block in October thread!

@Iluvlucy wrote:Hi everyone! I was going to try and make the 9:00 Pilates class but didn't make it, heard from my hiking buddy in VA so got caught up with her instead, then had to do a couple of things for the house...but I will make the 10:00(Instructor's choice so don't know which one(Tower, Bodhi, Cadillac, a combination, etc until we get there). It's an hour and a half but 30 is stretching which I can't get enough of. And bopper reminded me to check-in, so here I am! I'm way behind in reading so skimmed and seems everyone is doing okay.
We're warmer again too but should be getting cooler. Two of my gf's have snow already! 1 in Montana and 1 in Wyoming. Mountains were covered, pictures were beautiful. Our leaves started changing in July, think they're going to be very saturated this year. It was so foggy on my jog this morning..between being dark and the fog, I coulnd't see a thing. We're supposed to go hiking after class today but it may be too foggy on the trails.
Started a Ladies Bible Study that I really love, such nice, warm, "real" ladies. Also have a great group from the Pilates Studio so that's making me feel more at home here. Did you know it takes around 20 hours to become a Personal Trainer but up to 2 years to become a Pilates Instructor? Lots of hours, classes, observation, training, etc. Yes, I'm talking about it. One of my instructors is a well-known Certified Teacher and mentors many, even from other states. I said not now during the move but we'll revisit this conversation after I get settled and go from there.
I am still running behind so don't have time to reply to everyone...and I'm taking texts as I type so my mind isn't focused...more so than usual...lol.
Phone call rom painter I have to take....have great day everyone!!! Dr.Kelli wanted to ask about BB but don't have time! Waving!
I was just reading through this thread to see what kind of workouts people here are doing when I came upon your post that states that a Personal Trainer certification only takes 20 hours of study to obtain. As a certified Personal Trainer myself, who studied for many months for my exam, and also had years of independent study and another several months of study for a different personal trainer exam several years ago. If there are certifications with so little study required, I can assure you that they are not nationally recognized certifications, and no one will take anyone with that sort of certification seriously. As a coach/trainer, I have seen a lot of really bad trainers over the years and although requirements to obtain certifications have become more stringent, there still are those "weekend" type certs that people get and then hang a sign that says they are now "certified" to train.
I take my education seriously and am a fitness professional, not just a "certified" trainer. The certifications that I hold require re-certification every 2 years and the requirement is 20 hours of CECs over that 2 year period, so that might be the 20 hour thing you are referring to.
There are good coaches and bad coaches, qualified trainers and unqualified, but I just wanted to say that those of us who take our profession seriously and who actually know how to help people reach their goals have a much broader base of education and knowledge than can be acquired in 20 hours.
