Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Good morning all.  I Hope everyone’s weekend was enjoyable.  Mine was peaceful.

This morning, my agenda includes Senior Cardio and Strength & Motion (weights).  My Monday classes don’t start until 10:30 so I might get there earlier and do some walking.

Have a great day everyone.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Good morning everybody!  Another beautiful, crisp fall day is on the horizon.  I love fall more than any other season....until the snow starts, that is.  Beautiful, light jacket, none humid, good hairdo weather.

My Tuesday exercise lineup is 9:30 Body & Sculpt, 10:30 Flexibility and then 11:30 Zumba.  A perfect morning time schedule, not too early and not too late.

I hope everyone is well and will be enjoying this gift of a new day/beginning.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Nudie had no pants.

And Adonis is back in the building.

It is the season for horror and the new music and routines brought it all out. We had Ms. Rudeness too and a packed house to have Nudie front and center in no pants every time she bent over and we bent over a lot in the new routine. Smiley Surprised Thank goodness I have my back corner and I was pretty much blocked from view.

Pound was up first and there is never any new music for Pound which is why I am so tired of it but I do like it.  But wait, they do have Halloween tunes which the instructor just happened to mentioned.

Um, so when are we gonna get our Ghostbuster on?  I think she screwed us last year too by not delivering on promised new tunes for the holiday.  We have a promise for the next two weeks.  If I get squat, a cauldron is coming out along with a voodoo doll since tis the season...

The we get to Power.  The music stinks. I don't recognize hardly any of it.  I guess the gym was cheap and couldn't pay for rights to music any of us has ever heard before.

Like the routines except the last one is for abs.  They wanted us to do two obliques and then get up on one arm and do two more in some sort of crab postion while crossing our legs or something like that.

Are you freaking kidding me?!  If you need a choreography class to learn the moves, it doesn't belong in a simple gym routine.  I just did regular abs and obliques and my routine rocked.  KISS (Keep it simple stupid).  Learn it.

Have a great Tuesday all!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hey everyone, busy day babysitting my 2 year old GD, and the day flew by.  Was sunny but now cloudy and windy, my front yard is covered in leaves but the tree is still covered too.  It's pretty though like a blanket of gold.

Did TG this morning and a dog walk.  Lots of movement watching my GD though and she comes tomorrow too so same for tomorrow.

Hoping everyone is enjoying Fall, my favorite time of year.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Good morning all!  We're back to 'fall' weather.  It's been gorgeous the last few days--unfortunately with the bitter cold temps and snow last weekend, all the leaves came out of the trees, so we don't get to enjoy much fall color.

I'm so happy today is yoga day.  I'm all stiff and am looking forward to it.

I started working on a bunch of new stuff for my zumba class next month.  New warm up, a couple of new songs, a couple of songs that our former teacher taught.  I will say that my Halloween songs have gone over very well.

Yesterday, when I was in the locker room getting ready to go back to work, I saw one of my students and she came up and gave me a big hug.  I don't recall ever hugging my zumba teacher LOL!  But I thought it was really sweet and am glad she loves the class so much.

I'm traveling next week, but will need to practice the new routines in the evening.  I'm also finishing up a Phoenix class--I started wth 14 students and am finishing with 8.  To be honest--I prefer the smaller class--it's easier to engage with everyone and it's much easier to grade papers.  I HATE when I get 22 people--it takes me HOURS to grade and to respond to each student in the classroom.

Hope you all have a great day--oh--I did see A Star is Born on Monday.  I liked it--but I'm not a super Lady Gaga fan--she does a really good job in the movie.  The one thing I will admit--during the scenes in the drag club--I actually recognized one of the drag queens from RuPaul's Drag race--she was my favorite contestant on that show of all time!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hey all, a busy day again babysitting but got in 40 minutes on TG and using the Gazelle throughout the day, got in the dog walk too.

Laura I just put the pumpkin bread in the oven.  I made my own almond flour so hopefully it will work, it wasn't the consistency of regular flour though, not powdery, but I followed a recipe I saw on Hallmark where she made her own flour and all she did was take the slivered almonds and put them in a blender, of course she had the Vitamix which I don't have, used my Ninja but I'll see, if it doesn't turn out next time I'll use my food processor.  I did use the coconut oil and the honey.

My hubby was telling me not to buy the almond flour as it was too expensive, so then I grabbed a bag of slivered almonds and snuck them in the cart  LOL....Sometimes you have to do what you have to do!!!

DrKelli I heard that movie was really good, I do like Lady Gaga and love musicials.

We are getting flurries today, and it's only in the 30's.  I tell ya we went from AC to winter, no Fall, our yard is a blanket of leaves and they are so wet it's almost impossible to rake them up .

Made a Weight Watcher zero point taco soup for dinner.  Not zero calories of course though.  I don't follow the points really but I do follow WW recipes.  It tastes really good and it didn't call for ground turkey it called for chicken but I used turkey.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

@bopper  I don't grind my almonds completely.  The dry container for some reason can't go more than 2 minutes and I'm not going to sit and do batches.  My bread has some almond bits in it which you could probably tell from the picture.  They don't bother me.

I hope it came out well and you are enjoying it this morning.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

I did my Power class this morning.  Brand new music again and routines.

I actually tried the in the air crab side ab move during the ab routine and did most of it but it's just stupid.  If you don't get cute like that, you can actually get more reps in and it matches the music better.  So guess what I did the second time around?  I am not a stupid girl.

I don't recall seeing Nudie this morning.  Mrs. Rudeness was doing airplanes and wings and the chicken dance.  I don't think she has followed a routine and actually done the class the rest of us are doing in forever.

Adonis is back with a vengence and making fun of the music and giving out parenting advice.  Yes, there are mini Adonis' gazing into a mirror somewhere in this world.

I am supposed to be moved into my new place when my family comes back to town on Sunday and stays a few days.  We'll see.  I am crazy excited to finally be down there where I moved all my home fitness gear months ago.  My bike misses me and I miss her.

I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Good morning, everyone!

@Laura14, I’m excited for you moving downstairs to your very own space.  I was reading some article the other day where a woman had her private space and she calls it her She Shed.....you know, like man cave.

@bopper, I’d cook a lot again if I could discipline myself to not go overboard eating.

@DrKelli,  it’s always nice to know you’re appreciated.

Well, I’ve got 30 minutes to get ready to leave the house.  Zumba Tone this morning.  Have a good day everyone!

Re: Welcome to the October Exercise Thread

Hey ya'all, almost forgot to check in.   I did Pilates reformer and walked.  I thought I'd do a reformer workout and I can't get into it.  Only burned 85 calories in 30 minutes, I know it's not about calorie burning on that, it's flexibility and mind but not sure I can do it, now that I'm serious about my TG.

I raked today also, so many leaves, but so pretty.  Today was probably the nicest day we've had since October started.  Blue skies and colored leaves...

Laura I my bread looked exactly like yours.  I liked it but hubby won't eat it, doesn't like the bits of almonds and said too moist.  He isn't one to stray from the Normal tasting recipes .  Can I freeze that?

Foxxie I know what you mean, you cook and taste and pretty soon you've eating your share and haven't even sat down...

Dr.Kelli all the snow you had is gone, that's what I like about CO!

Judy are you doing okay with your feet?

MickD, is it still hot and humid?  Hope you are getting some trail time in.

Waving to everyone, almost bed time.
