Go to an exer equipment store, and pay to have them delivery it, and they will also assemble it for you.

Not sure about an elliptical, but I purchased an already assembled treadmill from Sears several years ago.  Of curse, now that I think of it, our Sears has closed.

There used to be a chain of used sports equipment stores called Play it again sports.

Maybe Di**s Sporting Goods. They’re pretty heavy and cumbersome to transport once put together though. And they’re not easy to assemble.

Walmart and other larger retailers sell them and, for a $, will put them together

Try a fitness equipment store.  My doctor wrote a prescription for 2 pieces and that meant I did not have to pay tax on them.  I was in a horrible auto-pedestrian accident and spent months in the hospital and rehab facility.  My doctor wanted me to keep using some key pieces that helped me so much in my recovery so that's why he wrote the prescriptions. 

That's probably TMI   but maybe if you decide to get a large piece, tell your doctor about it and see if he thinks it's beneficial to your health and he might possibly be able to write a prescription for you.  Good luck.

I think they're still in business @chessylady and also other businesses sell gently used equipment as well.

I saw an elliptical machine at ReStore yesterday if there is one near you. They usually have exercise equipment
