YEA Laura! So glad to hear you booked a trip to NYC! How fun! My DD and I are planning a trip there next Spring - a mom/daughter trip and I'm already looking forward to it. Enjoy! Looking forward to hearing all about it.
Bopper - good for you for doing the Shred. I found that so hard but still have the DVDs so who knows maybe one day I'll try again. Don't worry about the pushups, I find them very hard also. But I'm proud of Laura for being able to do so many! You go girl!
Still thinking about the Tai Chi program I saw on TV. Found the DVDs on Beachbody.com so could get them there. I've heard so many good things about Tai Chi esp. for us more mature ladies -
- who need to be concerned with balance, strength, and stability.
Can't believe it's the end of May already. My trip is only 3 months away! I need to get crackin' on strengthening my legs so I can go up all 129 stairs to kiss the Blarney Stone!

Laura, congratulations for booking a trip! And your push-ups - oh, my, you rock, girl.
Judy, good luck with you computer. I hope it's not major sick.
Bopper, you're doing so good with Shred. Proud of you!
Cardio done. I didn't feel like doing weights ... too bad, as I was the only one there, it was a good time to do some weights. Oh, well, another day.

@JudyL I am so jealous of your Ireland trip. My green envy matches the Irish landscape so I should really stow away in your luggage if I lived closer to the West Coast. ![]()
I'm sorry I forgot you asked about Tai Chi. I have never done it but I hear good things from people that do. Every year there is a big convention here around Labor Day and Erin Gray from Buck Rogers back in the day teaches a workshop on it. It's always sold out. I don't know that I would enjoy it. I don't like to be barefoot because I'm always cold.
Thanks for all the NYC congrats. I figured I need a dose of home. If people are going to be mean to me, I may as well go back to my home turf where I can talk back and enjoy myself.
And I'm telling you guys right now, I am eating pizza!! Maybe every day I am there. It's a good thing I'll be a walking fiend all through the city. I also bought a ticket to go to a NY Times event with the cast of Orange is the New Black. I figured it would be fun. We'll see.
And I am still doing Iowa in July. But I will NOT be having any walking tacos. No offense to anyone here but yuck. I decided to drive up in my own car. Something inside me just wants me to be there with my own wheels since I'm getting very serious about moving there and I think I need the road time to sing and hear myself think along the way about my future plans.
I want to hear all about your trips that you all are going on. I hope I'm not the only one taking some mental health time soon.

So glad you are going on your trips Laura and you're right, driving will give you time to relax, sing, think and give you the mobility you need/want to check the area out some more. Good for you! Can't wait to hear about NYC, that'll be so much fun! You are taking care of yourself and that's a good thing.
How long will it take you from where you live to get to Iowa? My daughter and son-in-law are going to Ohio for Christmas so I'll be on my own and was thinking of doing something different over the holidays. At lunch today, a co-worker brought up going to Hawaii. The more I think about it, the better it sounds. I've never been so who knows maybe I'll be heading to sun, sea, and sand for the holidays!

@JudyL Oooh, you go girl! I've never been but my mother loves Hawaii and has been many times. I think she likes Maui.
Iowa is a two day trip for me. I'll probably leave after work and make Kentucky and then arrive the next day. It'll be very similar to when I use to drive the PA to GA trip before I stupidly moved. I use to drive partway after work and then get there the next day. Kind of makes it a one day trip in my mind, Plus I get to check Kentucky off the list. The only two states I've not hit east of the Mississippi are KY and OH.
I love NYC. Is this your first trip? I grew up in Jersey so it's home for me. I have to go back for the food and the tell it like it is no nonsense people like myself. I know it's time to take a trip North when I'm about to take out the next person who tells me to have a blessed day down here. Hospitality is nice but sometimes some real language actually makes me smile more.

Laura - it'll be my first trip to NYC and my daughter's second. She really only had one day maybe a day and a half to run around and see things close to her hotel cuz she was there on business. But she's been wanting to go back so I thought it would make a nice mom/daughter trip. We've traveled together before. The Christmas after my divorce, I couldn't stay home so she and I went to Sedona, Arizona for a few days and had a fabulous time. We travel well together and have such a good time together so I think we'll both enjoy NYC. Our list of things to see is about the same so think we'll do fine. Told her that we both can pick one absolutely positively must see and then the rest is up for discussion. I picked the 9-11 memorial, she picked a museum. Told her that our choices can change before or even after we get there. Know it's a year away but we're already having fun talking about the places and things we want to do.
