Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Looks like I'll be doing a treadmill workout...It's going to be raining, cold and windy all day.

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Hi, all. I hope you're having a good day.

Mine has been...well, weird.  It's my birthday, that's been fun.  But I got news that's made me sad, too.  My boss, the one who just hired me a couple of months ago, called us into his office today to tell us the company hs decided to cut his job.  What????  He didn't have a hint it was coming.  The rest of us still have jobs, but I don't know how effective we can be without a leader who understands what we do.  It's all very strange.  I'll ride it out and see what happens....but dang, this certainly changes things.  I'm sad for him, and me, too.

I didn't do a workout yesterday because I felt my legs needed a rest. I intended to do one today, but lost my resolve after getting the bad news at work.  I'll get back on track tomorrow.

@nomless  Happy Birthday!  I'm sorry it's a day late.  I'm so sorry to hear about your work situation, especially your friend.  If it helps, I have been through three changes in ownerships over the past three years.  This last one has been horrible.  But, the second one was a very good thing and it was a very nice, mostly enjoyable time with that group so this could be the start of a nice new beginning for you.  Change is very hard for everyone but sometimes it's for the best and I have found that many of the people who have left under changes have gone on to do bigger and better things.  Which is why I am questioning why I'm still here.  Keep the faith and hang in there while everything sorts itself out.  It may just give you some opportunities or freedom you didn't know you wanted or needed.  Smiley Happy

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Happy Good Friday everyone!   It's sunny but when I got up it was only 18 out.  It's 44 now and I did my Bodygym upper body, 2 sets of 15 and then 200 glides on the Leg Magic, and a trail walk with Logan.   The trail is a bit hard going as it's all snowy and some patchy ice but it's so pretty to be back there, alone and look up at the crystal blue sky with the pine trees...my meditation time.

Nomless a Big Happy Birthday my friend.  I hope your day was fabulous, minus the news about your boss losing his job...that would be disturbing for sure.  Like Laura said sometimes the change you dread turns out to be the best thing...time will tell.

I'm having the whole family over here for Easter after we go to church, so it will be more of a Brunch as probably around 11 am..  I hope Easter is like today outside, but it's supposed to be cloudy..

Daisy hi to you, good job on the treadmill workout!   I hope to do lots more walking outside as soon as our snow goes.

Wishing everyone a Peaceful day!

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Cardio done.

Laura and Bopper, thanks for your kind words.  And yes, I'm used to such changes.  At my previous job, layoffs occurred every 3 to 6 months for 7 years until they finally closed the copany last summer.  I was among the last 4 survivors, down from a staff of 75 or so in 2008.  During those 7 years I saw lots of changes and had many bosses. It was heart-wrenching to see so many coworkers lose their jobs and fearing I would be next.  The last few weeks working with former boss and co-worker has been so great, part of the old team back together again. Now, it's sad to be ripped apart again.  I don't know how much downsizing there will be, it's a new phenom for this company.  So, once again, I'll stick it out and see what happens.  It will be interesting to see how the new boss with no tech background chooses to run this tech group he has inherited.  We're all wondering how it will work out, but will try it for a while and see.

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Morning and Happy Easter Eve,  I just did 15 miles on the  Proform Xbike and will continue cleaning for tomorrow...My hubby sarcastically says "oh your cleaning, we must be having company"   Hahah  Ok "dear"

Partly cloudy here and it's supposed to rain and turn to a sleet so not too nice and same for tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone!

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

@bopper hand your husband a mop. It's his house too. 😊

@nomless I feel for you. Changes at work are so stressful. Just know you have a virtual friend taking the same journey. 😊

So after hiking and baking all day and standing in the medicine aisle for the umpteenth time to find something to help me sleep through the night, I gave up and finally discovered last night that no pillows at all was bearable. Woke up a few times to switch sides, but no meds which I am really excited about. Hope it keeps true for tonight.

Happy Easter everyone!

@Laura14, I hope you had another ok night last night.  I agree with you about avoiding meds when possible.  Lots of good wishes to you.

Cardio done.  It's a gorgeous day here for Easter.  I'll join a friend and her family later for dinner.

Bopper, I hope you and family have a wonderful day today.  I hope your dad enjoys the fun and food.

@Iluvlucy, thinking of you, too.  I hope much of your move is accomplished by now.  I hope you and the kids will be getting together.  And I hope Lucy is OK.  You were concerned about her, but I'm not sure we heard what the vet came up with.  I hope she's back in fine form now.  Good wishes also for DH; I hope his work hasn't been made crazy by recent events.

@cater, lots of good wishes to you, too.

Hi to SeaMaiden and Daisy and all our friends.  I hope your day is a good one.

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Happy Easter everyone, it's very dreary and drizzling here and cold but no more snow for now.

Thanks the Easter brunch went very well and my dad really enjoyed himself as did everyone.  Who needs a restaurant when the restaurant comes to you !   We went to church this morning and had a nice service.

Laura I take a benedryl to sleep and it seems to help me but it seems like an epedemic sometimes when you think about it how many can't sleep.

Nomless enjoy your beautiful day with friends.

Iluvlucy hope your day is beautiful too and that your getting organized and enjoying the new home.

Wishing you all a great week ahead!
