Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Hi All! Bopper-the Internet has been worse than normal. They have been working the last 2 years to come up with a plan for high speed. DSL limited here, too. They are having trouble finding a company that wants to set us up- too rural, not cost effective. Today was a little muggy so I did a long walk early and then cleaned the house. After that a good book on the porch! Nomless- you and bopper are doing good with your TGs. Thunder on its way- can hear it in the distance. Hi to all! Have a great Thursday!

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

I started to do some cardio yesterday (treadmill and elliptical) but my foot was hurting. The arch is sore, tendon or muscle or something. It started a couple of days ago, so after doing 10 minutes last night, I decided I'd better stop. I think it's a sign I need new workout shoes, so over lunch today, I'll stop at the New Balance store and see what they recommend. I'm wearing my Birks today; I think it's helping.

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

I've had good luck at the New Balance store before, but not today. Bummer. Told the sales person I wanted a shoe for walking that's light weight, not bulky and low to the ground, as I prefer having good road feel. She showed me about 5 pair that were big and clunky with tongues that come up above your ankle. I hate that. She then showed me a pair of Minimus, which is much closer to what I'm looking for. But in my size there was only the left shoe, the other was out on the floor somewhere as display but she couldn't find it.

Will look elsewhere next week. Not sure what to do about my foot in the meantime. Not a happy camper.

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Hi everyone...we're here! Ugh, what a terrible day yesterday was...and that's all I got to say about that!{#emotions_dlg.blink} I'll spare you all the details. LOL! We're safe, thankful for that!

I ran on the beach this morning and then around the base...then walked and ran with Lucy up and down the beach...so around 7 miles. Did a work-out on the beach...I think they called it Cross-Camp...combination Bootcamp and CrossFit style...just another name for basically the same thing.

But...it's a lot harder doing lunges, sprints, push-ups, burpees, planks, etc., in the sand. And I only did 20 minutes of it but that was plenty because I already ran and still had to go lift. I think my calves might already be sore from the sand!{#emotions_dlg.unsure}

Gym was packed so I won't be going early anymore. I was the only female in the weight room so I'm wondering if there is another room. Will check it out more tomorrow with dh.

Anyway, everyone is really upping their game! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1} Need to run some errands, get some groceries, might get a pedi, etc.

Hi, Patty. It feels good to be there, I bet. Now you can enjoy the beach every day. Nice!

I looked for shoes again during lunch hour today, but didn't find anything I liked. Oh, well. I'll make do.

TGIF!

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Hi, all! Went to the gym this am. Spin, of course, but lifted, too. Did tris, leg press, and calves. I went heavy for 2 sets of 8-10, then increased my weight, and did 8 reps, then drop sets until I was fatigued. Omgoodness!!! I will be feeling it tomorrow, for sure. I wish I'd had more time, but I was sweating before I went to class, and I'll have to peel my clothes off of me for my shower in a minute. Just had some toast and coffee. We have lunch with friends, then a play today. I need to go de-funk and get ready! Hope you all have a good day!!

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Morning everyone!

5 miles and a full-body, heavy lift at the gym. We went from set to set without any rep any rest and my heart was pounding! I'll be feeling it tomorrow too FUTURE, I really pushed myself and went out of my comfort zone.

Did a new exercise...rope pull. Really gets your heart-rate up and it works every muscle in your upper body and hits your abs and core hard. I did over 200 on legs and pretty heavy on the rest...mixed it all up...kind of what you did FUTURE. Some I even only did 6 reps at a time because it's all my shoulder can take at that weight but like I said, without any breaks in between, it really doesn't matter.

Anyway, then we took Lucy out and on the way back, had a run-in with a snake. Second one I've seen since we've been here. Rob was chasing Lucy and yelling and I was yelling...got my heart-rate up yet again...lol! So, we really have to be careful.

Have a great day everyone!! We're going to shower and look at some homes!
