Re: Welcome to the January Exercise Thread

It's Monday Funday time!   I did intervals today using the Proform Xbike and hopping off using the BodyGym.   I just did my own thing, didn't watch any of the dvd today, but I got a great workout, even created some new exercises for my lower half...I really do like this and feel it in my core a lot..   I am not worried about them stretching out or breaking...that will take a long time before that happens and I still use the Tony Little bar with his attached bands because for some of the exercises I do the longer bar is more comfortable for me.  I'm tall so it works well for me.

It's cold here .  Was 8 above when I got up.  Up to 12 now.

Nomless thank you.  I'm tickled about the dog reunion too.  What a blessing... Enjoy your day today!

Laura spin class is hard, great job!  Glad you are likeing your BG too!

Patty, waving to you and praying for DS and yourself with all you have going on...

Skylark, how are you doing today?

I'm forgetting some of the names of the new folks so I"ll give a Shout Out to all.

Keep up the great work, drink that water!

Be Well, Be Blessed and Be Thankful!

Re: Welcome to the January Exercise Thread

Hi, all. I have nothing to report because I'm busy juggling 2 jobs for the time being.  Ugh.

I can't quit the old job yet because of an administrative hassle that's turned into a big problem.   Get this: they entered my address in the HR system incorrectly.  When I pointed out the error and asked them to fix it, I was told they can't and they don't know who can.  What?????  I've been fighting with them about this for nearly 6 weeks to no avail. It's a concern because I have no assurance that I'll receive my W2 for my tax return--both this year and next year.  Employer laughs it off and thinks the problem is funny.

Today I went to the post office to see if I can handle the problem on my end by turning in a change if address form.  Good idea, but no, it won't work because the address the employer has for me is invalid, the address does not exist, and the change of address system won't except an invalid address.  I need to be sure address is fixed before I quit, but I sure don't know how I'm going to get it done.   I'm sure sorry I got involved with this company.

Meanwhile, I went to new job and got all the HR stuff done.  Piece of cake.

BL is on tonight.  I hope it will help me stop thinking about bad job.  I want so much to walk out of that job but if I do, chances are they'll never fix my address.  Then IRS will come after me for not reporting all my income.....

Re: Welcome to the January Exercise Thread

Well, I wouldn't even know where to start about my weekend.  No one would believe all of it and I am not even willing to type that book, the short-version will be bad enough

Started off with a miserable house-hunting trip to DC area...while there we find out my son is having ER surgery....realtors car dies after I say we have to "go now" so we're trying to jump it when we should be on the road to northern PA....terrible fog on the drive to the hospital from DC....no clothes, toothbrushes, dog food, nothing....driving home yesterday we break down on the freeway and I can not even begin to tell you that entire story.  Took tow-truck almost 4 hours to get to us, remember I am hopped up on steroids, it was a nightmare.  Oh, we don't have coats and it was 10* and car smelled like gas so bad, you couldn't breath.

We are darn fortunate to even be here, the gas smell and smoke were so bad, even the Sterling BMW dealership said it was bad, we just got it out of the shop for the same thing 2 weeks ago and they said they didn't do what they should have.  I can't even tell you what I was like with the manager there....I told him he better get the CEO of BMW North America on the horn right now because I'm not taking this vehicle back.

And it looks like we're not. It's paid for so they will either give us a full-refund or they are going to deal with us, no cost to us of course.  I told them I was not in the mood to waste 5 more minutes of my time to look at a new car to pick out plus they have some obstacles to jump through to do that but I couldn't even discuss it.  I just wanted to get home.  They said to take the loaner and keep it as long as it takes us to decide what we want.

My son is sick, we are in the middle of a move, we have a Change of Command we're planning and I have 200 people to feed next month and no food, I'm having medical tests, dh is having medical tests, we are taking my van that Toyota wrecked while in for repairs, in for those repairs this week so we'll have 2 loaners, dealing with a new vehicle now, dh is traveling again next week, a gas leak at our house....I'm teetering on the edge!!!  LOL!   Can not make this stuff up!!!!  I havne't even set-up our pack-out!

Yeah, that's the short version....yesterday alone would have been a book!

DS is okay, they did a lot of cauterizing so his esophogus and stomach are quite sore...he's full of ulcers so they took a bunch of biopsies, among other things, checking for Crohn's instead of UC now.  Oh, and his wife was out of town for a soccer tournament so he was going into surgery(they called in his GI team) by himself.  I was beside myself, no other way to put it.

Re: Welcome to the January Exercise Thread

OMG, Patty. First, thank goodness DS is stable.  As for all the other stuff.....wow.  To say it's an ordeal is such an understatement.  And it's not even behind you yet, you still have to deal with all this STUFF.  I am so, so sorry.   A boatload of prayers for you and family.  And as many virtual hugs as you need.

@Iluvlucy  HUGS!!

@nomless  That is completely unacceptable and completely believable.  I think I work for that same company.  It's insane what passes for professionalism these days.

Did my Pound and Power class today.  Hope everyone has a nice and easy Tuesday.  Sounds like everyone could use a quiet day.  Heart

Re: Welcome to the January Exercise Thread

nomless, I'm so sorry!  I didn't read any posts...yep, I admit it.  I'm just not thinking clearly and I don't do any of this stuff on my phone and didn't have laptop so hadn't even looked over here since I last posted.

What on earth is their problem??!  Seriously, what a nightmare...I'm sure that's what we're about to enter with unloading dh's Beemer.  Already have left 3 messages with no call-backs.  It won't be as easy as just picking out a new car.

Well, I ran 8 miles this morning and dead-lifted 150lbs(injuries and all) on less than 3 hours of sleep on top of no sleep all weekend...I don't normally say my mileage or weight-load on here, but, it's safe to say the steroids are either making me feel better, and/or are totally wiring me out.  I guess both...I seriously could have kept running but have too much to do.  Felt like the old days, I'm now wondering how long I haven't been feeling well and while I was running, I pin-pointed when I think something changed.  I remember it and don't feel I've been quite the same since.  They always think it's from my low thyroid but I agree with the current specialists that whatever is happneing, is causing my thyroid like a side-effect, not it being the cause.

Anyway, thanks for prayers guys.  I'm sitting here doing emails and making phone calls...on hold right now and I can not just do one thing at a time.  I sure hope they figure it out nomless...grrrrrr!

Re: Welcome to the January Exercise Thread

Morning, its very cold and windy here, schools are closed because of white out conditions but at the moment it seems to have let up.  I have a hair appt. at 1, but I don't have to go far.

Re: Welcome to the January Exercise Thread

Good morning all!  It's very cold windy and snowy here.  I shoveled a little for the dogs to get through. Brrrr. But its January so oh well.

Patty,oh I'm so sorry about all that mess. Hope your son keeps improving. That has to be a huge weight on your shoulders above all. All good thoughts for you and your family.

Nomless, nothing like aggravating details to start the New Year! It's amazing how many people today have no idea what they're doing nor don't care. No matter how careful you are about details it matters not...I always count on someone screwing up.

I hope you all have a productive week.

Re: Welcome to the January Exercise Thread

Bopper- ya should just call me MIA cos I always am MIA!!

Nomless- yay on your new job!

Patty- hoping you are getting all of the silliness over at once and then be done for the year.

Skylark- waving to you!

Cater- how are you?

Laura- nice to meet you ! I'm Tony and now officially called MIA. I was good at hanging with my friends here but then I started fading. I have become a failure at working out so never have anything to report. But my friends still let me visit, lucky for me!

So Happy New Year to all of you! And you know I have nothing much to report- chalean, Leslie or a firm DVD - that's about it. But life  is good so no complaints.

Bopper- you are sending winter my way. It's been great so far but a small storm today and then a bigger one coming on Saturday. Why don't you wear it out before it gets here?

Nomless- I'm missing the holiday eating- such a good/poor excuse! Oh well, back to reality!

Stay warm!

Re: Welcome to the January Exercise Thread

Hi, Tony, good to see you!  Yes, I'm not holiday eating anymore either.  I'm not totally back on track, but I'm doing a lot better.  I miss it too but it had to stop sometime!

Patty, I bet your hard activity helped to clear your head of worry for a little while and made you feel in control at least for a bit.  I hope the rest of your day went better.

I did some research today and learned if I don't don't get a W2 form because of the address screw-up, IRS wiil hassle it out with the company, not me.  I would file an alternate earnings estimate form.  That's a relief.  I also tried to handle it on my own today by calling the phone number on my pay check stub.  The guy said he could put through the address correction.  We'll see.
