Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

MickD....I didn't mean to leave you out...that's why I don't like addressing each person individually...because I always forget someone or something!  I thought about it later and it bothered me...haha.  Had to come back and post...not intentional.  I'm sure you weren't fretting over it...lol!  I know I've done it more than once.

Yes, it was hard yesterday...if I'm being honest, it's more challenging for me than other classes but in a different way.

While I'm here, I did Bootcamp class this morning..I liked it.  You run outside for your cardio circuits which is right up my alley.  If you can't run, one group power-walks.  But...after our first run, we started right off with push-ups, then mountain climbers..just what I said I hope we don't do.  Can't get away from it!   Then I did upper body weights and didn't rest...did a circuit.

Hope everyone is having a good day!   It's pretty nice here, I already walked Lucy twice!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hi all, this morning I did Xbike 20 miles and Body Gym.. Just came in from walking Logan, got sprinkled on a little but it stopped now.  Very muggy out and buggy on the trail

Bringing him for his boretella shot in a little bit here.

I always forget everyone, and it's not intentional either.  It's hard to remember who said what but I think we all get that.

Not much new here, which is a good thing.  I appreciate each day and the calmness where I live.

Enjoy your day!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

There are days I hate the workout room, and today was one of those days. When I got there, a woman was in the back doing weights, but the TV was on in the front of the room. Ok, she must be listening to it. I turned the other TV to what I wanted and put it on mute.  Got about 10 minutes into my workout, and two other women came in, friends and friends of the woman who was already there. Lots of cackling laughter ensued and loud talking as they discussed what they wanted to do. They asked if they could change the channel on the TV I was watching. What? Why not change the TV no on is watching? I didn't say that, though. Instead I said sure, and I left. Too much noise and chaos for me to deal with . I'll go back later and try again.  Or maybe today will become a rest day.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

@nomless  I know it!  I get aggravated every time someone encroaches in my space or sits next to me in Ride class and there are 50 other open bikes.  It's hot and we all sweat.  Why do you need to be on top of me?  It's beyond rude in my opinion.  People need their manners back.

My gym just transitioned to where the tv is on each individual machine.  I normally don't do machines but it's a great idea so everyone can watch what they want on their own piece of equipment.   I've been thinking of maybe switching some stuff up and maybe going at night since they've done that but parking is non-existent so we'll see.

I did my normal Pound and Power this morning.  Speaking of aggravation, one of my friends decided to talk my ear off about how inspired she was with the coach of Clemson who came and preached at her church on Sunday.  Now, as respectful as I am of other people's views, to me religion is private and not to be discussed especially when, in my view, the kind you practice is extremely judgemental towards others.  I so need to get out of the South.

My playlist has moved on to Kool and the Gang.  I have worn out Misled which I totally forget was one of the most rocking songs ever!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

@Laura14, nearly all of the machines are in need of repairs of some kind, pretty much a constant state.  Most are still usable, but not functioning as they should.  They have repair guys in about once a month.  Which brings me to my point, at last: I wish they'd get rid of these and replace with new ones with TV screens on each machine, like you descrbe. That solves a lot of issues.  Goodness knows our rent is nigh enough that we deserve some perks.

Good job at Pound. Sorry you got hounded..that was not the time or place, for sure.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

@nomless  Well they need to step it up.   You know I've started doing strength exercises at home.  I am on day 4 of my ab challenge.  I know it's hard to do cardio without some type of gym equipment unless you are an outside runner but you could probably at least do the weights and other body weight exercises without them.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

@Laura14, like you, I'm doing more strength training at home now that I have my chair. I still use the weight machines in the workout room, too, but not as often.

I went back later and finished cardio.  Yay for me.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hi Everyone - wanted to check in before I leave tomorrow.  Back/hip feel much better today.  You all are doing great with your workouts.  Hopefully I'll be able to get right back into it soon after I return.

Take care, be safe, and I'll talk to you all soon!

[ Edited ]

Crazy morning here already...ugh.  Topping it off with DH choking, I was just getting ready to do the Heimlich maneuver and I'm not kidding!  He's diving over at the Naval Academy today.  Yesterday he toured the John's Hopkins Physic's labs and enjoyed every second of it.  He said he met some highly intelligent people that made ya realize just how much you don't know...lol.

My gf is having a bbq at her house after church on Sunday(for the out of towners coming to the wedding, about 50 people) so we have to get a late check-out from the hotel.  I wanted to get on the road...4 hours can seem like 10 with 3 dogs.

I guess I'll do Step today, not sure yet....that seems to bother my PF and balls of my feet more than anything. don't need any strength today, I know that much.

Hope everyone has a good day!  And Judy, have a safe trip...pain free!
