Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Lucy, as you probably know, UTIs usually are a simple fix. I hope the shot does the trick and that Kit feels better  soon.

Very cool about the lady who has had such success with yoga and Pilates.   You probably have seen Barbara, the HSN fitness model who is 60 something and very lean, toned and graceful.  I'd like to know what she does. I bet it includes yoga and/ or Pilates.  She's in great shape.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

I was yelling at my tv this morning.  They presented the sheets that I returned and kept saying they are not slippery at all.  It's just not okay and I'm out $9 because they still aren't describing it properly.  It is really disappointing.

I am going to get my frustration out in RIde this morning.  Have a great Sunday all.

Laura, yes, it is frustrating when we're mislead about products.

Today, I'm looking at Dream Jeannes.  I found a style and colors I like, but I don't know if I'might willing to play sizing roulette.  Some reviews say size down, others say true to size.  The click here si ze chart isn't much help, and garments don't ahere to the size chart anyway.  And one color might not fit like another color.  So...what to do?   Take a chance on one size, one color, or buy a color in two sizes knowing I'll return one?  Which color?  If I could count on sizing being like the "click here" chart, I'd probably order 4 colors.  I wish Q would get the message that this is a problem and correct it. Grrr.  This fabric and colors aren't available locally.

One of the reviewers posted a photo showing that after a few wearings, the color is disappearing and white threads start showing.  I suppose that alone should make these a big no, but only 1 of 250 reviews mentioned this problem.

Oh...I did my cardio this morning.  Will do my chair sometime.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hi I'm late to the Par-tay today!   I just did yard stuff today.  Mowed and weed whacked, went to my hubbies softball game. They made it to the championship and then lost by 2.  It was a fun day and the sun appeared late afternoon and the evening was actually the best part of the day!

Nomless i know who Barbara is.  She is in great shape.  I wonder what she does do and what is her diet.  She doesn't have menopause middle!

Laura sorry about the mis-representation on the sheets, they shouldn't do that.  I like the HR sheets that are reversable.  I have those on the bed now.

I don't know much about the Dream jeans, is that the TSV tomorrow?  So hard to get sizing, sometimes if go by the size chart they are too small, hard to know and as many have mentioned the shipping back is so expensive.  Let us know nomless if you get them.

I luvlucy I hope your weekend was nice and you are all feeling better.  How is kitty doing with the UTI, hopefully her shot has helped her.  Seems its alwasy something isn't it?   Logan is getting his Bordatella shot Tuesday as we have to board him Saturday and Sunday.  My son will get him for us on Monday so he is home when we get back.  I worry so about leaving him.  I can't even go with my husband to drop him off as I"ll start to cry.   I have to get over this though, it can't ruin a small 2 day trip.

Well time for my new series Chesapeke Shores, I'm really liking it.  Have a good evening.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

I'm taking my first break of the day.  I about passed out mowing the grass yesterday, I was sweating so bad my feet were slipping off my flip-flops(we have the old-fashioned push mower so no worries of getting my toes cut off). I had to take a break and go catch my breath at one point.

I did 2 miles with Lucy, lifted legs and went up in weight again, fast run, then did a hard class...can't even remember the name of it, Vashti Beat maybe??.  She said 2 of the body-builder personal trainers tried it 2 weeks ago and spent most of the hour in Child's Pose becuase they couldn't do it, so she said if I can't do something, I can always go back to that.  After just doing legs, there were a couple of poses where my thighs were smokin'!  And the thermostat is broken so I was sweating bullets...when you had to reach back and grab your ankle, my hand was slipping off my ankle!  Lots of push-up poses and planks...even 1-armed, she said "15 more seconds" and I felt like I didn't know if I could hold it that much longer but I did. Anyway, I may do weights and stuff after from now on...just walk/run Lucy.

This particular kind moves fast during the main work-out...so you can hop up, down to Downward Dog, down to plank, pull your one leg through, then back to plank, then down to almost chest on floor push-up position but don't touch, then pop back up, etc, really fast...I liked it even though it was hard keeping up sometimes not knowing the poses.  It's supposed to be cardio mixed with Yoga and strength.  I did my head-stand really well but had troulbe with one move...I was shaking and quaking all over the place. Went to tailor to pick-up my dress...ugh...I won't even get into that.  Then went to dry-cleaners and grocery shopping.

DH's old boss and friend was killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday...3 kids.  They still haven't made the funeral announcements.  I hope he can attend.

Well, I guess I'll cook up the chicken breasts for the week and see if Lucy's groomer got back to me.  Oh..thank-you, I think Kit is feeling better.  She seems to be anyway.  She loves her new food but she loves food period...a lot like her mom. Smiley Tongue

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Lucy, that sounds like one tough workout!  You did great.  Yay that Kit is better.

Bopper, I know it will be hard to leave Logan, but I hope you enjoy your weekend getaway.

HI,  Mick.  Have a good week.   You, too, Laura.

Judy, are you packed and ready to go? Have a great trip.

I did my cardio. Broke down and finally ordered a pair of Dreams Jeannes. Just have to see for myself what all the fuss is about.  Then went to a local Dillard's and found a pair of jeans made with the same fabric as DG flexstretch that I like. It's a knit on the backside with denim on the frontside - I don'the know how they do that. Price was a lot lower than DG, so I got a pair.  Done.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hi Nomless!  Yes I am all packed and ready to go.  Have to work tomorrow, Tuesday, but am going to try and sneak out a little early.

All was going well with my back and hip.  No pains, no tightness, no spasms - nothing.  Until Saturday.  Yep, my back and hip are acting up again.  All these weeks of taking it easy and feeling good and it acts up now just a few days before I leave.  I am so upset but refuse to let it get me down.  I am doing my stretches and will do them on the trip and I've got Aleve to help with the pain.  I'll just have to take it easy and walk carefully and do the best I can.  I will admit to a crying jag on Saturday when I realized what was happening.  Think it was more out of frustration and anger than anything else.  Its not as bad as in the past so hopefully thats a good sign and it'll pass quickly.

I'll try and check in from Ireland when I can.  Be well everyone!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

I keep forgetting...Laura, yes, I agree, the sheets are slippery.  If they would have done both sides with the buffed material, they would have been much better imo.  And the fitted sheet is too large.

DH had to be in early so we had to get up earlier than usual.  It's going to make for a long day, hate getting up so early.  I'm trying to decide which class to attend now since my back muscles are sore again.  I think I'll do HIIT at 9 and just pray it isn't a lot of mountain climbers in plank position and push-ups.

Judy, hope you're okay!  nomless, glad you got the jeans checked off your to-do list.  I hope they both work out.  bopper, I'd be happy with the 70's and 80's for a while...seems we went from the 40's in May to 90*...not much in between.

This weekend is going to be a blur.  Kids come down Friday and stay overnight, we'll drive to Virginia Beach Sat morning, get ready at hotel, wedding, reception, church the next day, then drive home..they'll stay here Sunday and leave on Monday....keep in mind we'll have 3 dogs and 1 is beyond crazy period, the other is a nightmare in public, and then Lucy.  My gf said we can leave them at her house during the wedding so we didn't have to drive back to the hotel to let them potty...maybe Lucy but I'm not sure about the other two...lol. Smiley Tongue  We're going to be a tribe.
