Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hi everyone! Today I did a fast walk around the lake. I pumped my arms to raise my heart rate more. On the way up, the phone and Otterbox were in the left hand; on the way back, the right.

My shoulders and biceps are yelling at me!

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Happy Saturday everyone, I really have no formal workout to report today. I am cleaning cupboards and throwing stuff out that I don't use or giving to to Good Will....then I got some little disk thing ( one of my GD's toys) stuck in the hose of the vacuum and I was about to blow a gasket and go over the edge!{#emotions_dlg.crying} I tell ya, I didn't want to continue to use the vacuum and get it even more into the hose. I could see it but it was wedged sideways so I pounded the hose on the floor and that didn't work, tried a yardstick and that didn't work...had to step away..............then after 30 minutes went back and brought it out to the garage, ( hubby is working) and looked around for a pliers but the handles are too short and I envisioned myself dropping it into the hose {#emotions_dlg.scared} so I found a long piece of wood ( twig like with a forked end and I put that in there and it grabbed it and I was able to pull it out of the hose...Hooray..I did it all by myself! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Nomless yes my wrists hurt in the position she was doing the exercise in so I changed it up. The important was I didn't quit at all.

Honny good job on the trial....is it buggy back there?

Pppmint I hope you are getting lots done so you can sit back tonight and feel accomplished! Hoping Lucy is behaving herself and liking her new yard...an DS is holding his own....

Well it's so humid out and getting humid in....and it's only 66 outside...DH will have a fit if I have the AC on....I use it to get rid of the humidity. I have an old dehumidifer in our basement but it's way heavy to carry up here and I run it down there but frankly I don't think it does squat! {#emotions_dlg.crying}

Well back at it, have a good day!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hi guys! bopper, my entire day has been like that. I knocked down something off the shelf at Marshall's with my twigs in the cart and busted it. "Clean up on aisle 4"!! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I hung a bunch of stuff yesterday with the electric drill, pretty much by myself, some of the stuff was pretty darn heavy so my traps are sore from holding them over my head. They kind of were from lifting all those heavy boxes though and moving furniture...and I moved some furniture...lol...most of it right back to the original spot after playing with it for an hour!{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Dh, Lucy and I went for a walk this morning but had to cut it short because Lucy was too hot...still got 3 in though. We walked by NCIS and I thought of cosmetics, remember how she loved that show?{#emotions_dlg.sad}

I'm washing all bedding for both beds including mattress pads, blankets, quilt, etc...doing a little more decorating and organizing. Will work on guest bedroom, then really only have office and garage. I've been going from morning until night so you'd think it would be done but it really does take a long time if you do it correctly...I wanted everything washed and organized.

I've been up and down these stairs 1000 times since we've moved in, you'd think I'd have lost some weight but I haven't.

DS is still about the same...just a constant dark cloud hanging over our heads. He did get to sleep in this morning though so I'm sure that helped.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Bopper, what a time you had with the vac. I know what a great feeling it is to fix it yourself. Way to go!

Patty, yay that DS is stable. Will pray he turns the corner to better very soon. You're making great progress settling in. It takes me weeks to get organized after a move. It must be a relief to be almost done. Yes, Cosmetics sure did love NCIS. I'm so glad she had something she enjoyed so much. I thought of her today when I put herbes de provence on my chicken.

TG done. I spent today cleaning, cooking and reading. Nice to just putz about around here. Have a bit more cooking and cleaning to do tomorrow.

Bopper! Today, I did what you did yesterday. I was sure I could vacuum around the sock on the floor. Nope. It got stuck in the tube going to the canister. Fortunately, I could see it and it was just reachable with a crochet hook! Whew, vacuum saved.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

It's Monday!

Busy week for us, I'll honestly be glad when it's all over. I don't even know what I'm wearing and the ceremony is on Friday. Getting my hair high-lighted tomorrow. My nails are all busted from moving in...I dropped a box of books last night and took off the longest one.{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

My gf came this morning...we ran to the gym and did a weight work-out but kind of combined cardio with it too. I can already feel it, arms are shaking...she asked if we could be done because she was pooped out...lol! We worked hard and were dying but now I'm so glad I did it!{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

We're going to do the TRX class like I did before, the Boxing and Kickboxing, and this other class on Friday that the one lady said is like a Boot-camp/CrossFit combined class but it's really good...said it's never the same, you don't have any idea what you'll be doing, but she's noticed a big difference in her physical shape and conditioning since adding that one.

I ran and walked Lucy this morning...so think that's a good routine for us. We'll do that and then she's ready to go in kennel while my gf and I go to the gym. Or I go, she said she'd probably only want to drive up here 3 times a week.

Okay, hope everyone had a great weekend, hope everyone has a great week, and I need to get cracking on the office! Only room I have left to do.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Morning, 48 cool degrees here this morning, raining now.

Nomless glad you got that sock out of there..that was lucky...it is so frustrating when that happens.

Pppmit what a great workout you had with hour gf..Super sounding gym..I know you'll be glad when it's next week at this time! What a special day it will be though.Hoping DS can make the trip and is feeling better.

This morning I did my KCM dvd and did the chest, shoulders, and back with bonus Abs section with lots of Planks.. I went up in weights for shoulders and the Arnold presses using 15's for the 1st set of 8, then I did the 2nd set doing I think I did 5, and on the last set I had to drop to 12's...but I am going to try and keep doing that and while she is always doing 8 reps I'll do less but go heavier, then used 10's on lateral raises ( weaker in that area) Used 20 ( holding 2 weights) lat pullovers. Will do legs tomorrow...was going to walk for my cool down and looked out and it's pouring out..

Good soup day today.and I think I have some in the freezer for our dinner tonight.

Have a good day everyone!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Patty, how nice to read your story about the gym and running Lucy. Your morning was almost back to normal, and soon your whole days will be so. So glad you enjoyed it. Prayers for DS.

Hi, Bopper, you did great! You're sure making great use of the KCM dvd. How nice that you have a cool day! It's hot here, and I fear it will stay hot and humid from now 'til almost October. Ugh. This is when I start counting the days..... Enjoy your soup for dinner.

Yesterday was a rest day. Not sure if I'll do cardio or weights today. Cardio probably.

Judy? Are you lurking out there? Would love to hear about your trip to S.Afr.

Hi to Future and Tony and Gazelle and SFG and all our friends.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hi, everyone!! Busy weekend. Saturday I did weights and spin. I am feeling it in my back and tris still today! I did the Pilates machine today for 30 minutes or so. Bopper, I just kind of do my own thing. Lots of squats and calves, as well as inner high, biceps, and chest/back. I really love that machine. I'm hoping it'll lean me out and help my flexibility. You sure are doing a good job going up in weight. I'm trying to do that, as well. It'll be so hot here this week. Feeling over 100* every day. YUCK!!!!!! Hubby and I have a dinner to go to tonight, so I have to shower up -- I'm feeling gross! Tomorrow I'll probably do the treadmill before work. I cannot WAIT for it to cool down so I can walk outside!! I'm hoping by September it'll be a little cooler, but I probably just jinxed myself. Oh, I found two cute dresses on sale this weekend, too. One is a bright blue that'll look good on me, and the other is a more casual dark floral boho one I can wear with boots in the fall. I really love wearing dresses, and don't too often (wear scrubs to work most days), so I was glad to find them -- always on sale!! Smiley Wink Ok, I hope everyone else has a great day -- tony, Nomless, Honny. The rest of you lurkers please come join us -- we see you!!!! Smiley Wink

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hi Ladies

Ran 6 miles on Sat and 10 on Sunday. Signed up for two more races. I have two in Sept and one in Oct. All 5K but still gives you a reason to get out there. If I have a paid run on my calendar, I am better about lacing up and getting out the door Smiley Wink
