Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

You'll be happy to know--I did NOT forget anything in the Zumba song today (I only got to do one today).  Next up is the 10 minute warm up sequence.  I will be at a conference next week, so I committed to doing it May 4.

@MickD, that's a really good pace!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Morning, all.  Glad you got through your routine well, @DrKelli.

Funny that all of you are purging and I'm not because I probably need to the most.  It's just so frustrating to do.  It's ridiculous how I and my husband seem to be emotionally attached to things.  I guess that's what it is?  Everytime I start getting rid of stuff, I put half of it back.  I can only remove hubby's stuff when he's out of the house because he's worse than me about keeping things.

We have a two car garage and he's keeping an old car in it that doesn't run in it and his car has to be in the driveway.  It was my car in the driveway until I had to take it to the shop twice in two weeks and it turned out that squirrels or chipmunks had decided to eat the wires.  Turns out that some newer cars have soy based wires and some animals love it.  So hubby put his car in the driveway and mine is in the garage.  He refused to get rid of the old, undrivable car.

I still have clothes that don't fit and some have shoulder pads but I love the suits and shoulder pads might come back, lol.  And unlike the raggedy car, it cost me nothing to keep them.  Excuses, lol.  I do give away a ton of stuff every year, though.  But at almost seventy, you can imagine the accumulation.

Walking and cardio on the agenda for today.  Hope everyone enjoy the day.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Happy Friday everyone, it appears to be a nother cold rainy/windy day here.  We're 37 out now and it's windy.   Will be doing Pilates and BodyBlade.  I have been finding new moves on the reformer on youtube so incorporating those into my routine.

Dr.Kelli good job on your routine!  How many people in your class?

Foxxie I too need to do more purging, I get overwhelmed and just stare  LOL

Nomless it's the weekend!  Woo hoooooooo   hope you have a great Friday!

We attended a concert last night and it was awesome!  All older songs from Frank Sinatra and The Sound of Music, Oklahoma etc.  Choir and band and everybody was rock'in and roll'in....Even little kids were rock'in and roll'in.

Lucy hope your weekend is good for you .   How exciting to be building a new home, that way you get it how you want it too !   Keep us posted on the progress.

MickD you did great and a good pace too!

Nothing from Laura hey?  I hope she is okay

Watching Evine now, they do have some cute things.  Never ordered from them.

Have a great day everyone!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

@bopper, there are about 12 of us on a regular basis.  Sometimes, when they are running a "healthiest workplace", certain classes have double points (the participants earn points by doing various things, including classes) and when Zumba is on the list--there are 30 people in there.  I like the small class because there is a lot of room to move!

The purging thing is hard, Lord knows, I've done it many times and always end up back where I was.  There is a psychological element to it and that's what I need to work on.  It's really helpful to have this professional organizer with me.  Normally, I am extremely anxious after I bag things up to donate, but I don't feel that this time.  She wasn't cheap, but I need to do this for myself.

I hope you all have a great day and a great weekend.  Today is my strength training session and tomorrow, I'm getting my eyebrows microbladed.  This is the last day I have to draw my eyebrows on!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

@DrKelli, Right now I'm taking a break between workout classes but when I get home I'm going to look up eyebrow micro braiding. I've heard of threading but not that one, lol.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

@Mmsfoxxie--it's micro blading--it's sort of a tattoo technique. I was diagnosed with alopecia areata last July and lost most of my eyebrows, along with about 1/3 of my hair (on my head).  I'm tired of having 'different' eyebrows every day.  The technique looks much more natural than straight tattooed brows.  I'm excited.  I hope the pigment takes well.

Oh, @DrKelli.  I see, ok.  Yes, I've heard that the permanent makeup tattooed ones can turn purple with time if it's black...don't know about the other colors.  Micro blading is a newer, better technique, I guess.  I understand about the alopecia areota, though.  A friend of mine has it.  Started in her thirties....hereditary.

About 15 years ago, I had permanent eyeliner done.  Very painful, expensive and it didn't really take well.  Just a shadow of a line that she said would show better later.  The little that was there turned purplish over time and, of course, is gone now.

Good luck with the micro blading.  I'm sure it's better than the old way of doing it and probably more natural colors.  You're going to be gorgeous, young lady.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

@DrKelli, I just googled microblading.  I looked at a video of someone getting it done.  Her finished look was gorgeous!  The tool that the tech used made nice feathered strokes that looked very natural.  And it's semi permanent, not like what I used to see that turned color over time.  And she said the pain was about a level three.  Definitely more gentle than tattooing.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

DrKelli...I would have microblading done in a NY minute if I could.  But it would send me into a flare...and most likely to the ER.  I can't do anything like that with this disorder.  My hairstylist has it done and it looks beautiful.  Hope you like it!

bopper...concert sounded like a great time!  I love Frank Sinatra, have some of his old vinyl albums that my parents had.  Probably building but when we were up there last week, we drove by this house and I said, "I sure wish that house would go up for sale"...well, yesterday it was listed for sale!  So we have an appt to look at it this week.  It's beautiful, unique, charming, and has a gorgeous yard backing up to the woods. Probably something wrong with it though. Smiley Tongue

nomless...hope you don't have to work too much this weekend. How are the kitties?   Spring cleaning takes twice as long with Lucy.  I got 5 more bags of clothes yesterday and she kept taking off with something(grabs it and runs), then she'd snort through and head-butt all my piles over with her snout...lol.

MickD...are you done with that tile?  I thought of you yesterday as I was on my hands and knees doing our bathroom floor.

Mssfoxxie....what's on your agenda today?  You sure don't let the grass grow under your feet either!

We have rain again today so our bike trip is cancelled, it's rained all week so it's really made everything green.  We were chilly Saturday, 85* on Sunday, woke up to 43* and cold rain Monday morning...felt good.  Temps looks gorgeous for our trip!

I got so much done yesterday...love waking up to everything clean.  Got groceries too, Lucy needed food for the trip and I needed litter for Kit.  My gf is going to come over everyday and tend to her for us.

Not sure what today holds since our plans have changed.  I'll come up with something though...did the bike yesterday so I'll do treadmill, pilates, yoga, and weights(what my shoulders can handle anyway) today.
