Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Bopper, sigh, more snow. Stay warm.

Actually, Coco didn't get mad at me for taking her to the vet. Well, maybe she did, but she was so happy I brought her home she let me off the hook for taking her away. She and Shadow are getting along again, their interaction is back to normal. They think the alteration of the feeding schedule is weird, but they're getting canned food more often, so, hey, they're good with it! (Usually, canned food is a treat, not their main diet.) Coco has one more day of being on pain med, but she seems to feel fine. I left more drenched kibble for them today....they didn't eat it last night, but they might today.

Patty, thinking of you and DS today. I hope things go well.

My foot is better but still tender so I'll keep doing the bike, maybe a little elliptical and will table the treadmill for now. I like reading while I do the bike.

Bopper-RIGHT!! Had almost 2 inches of snow with ice underneath. Had to start up truck early to defrost. Also had to find ice scraper in garage- was not happy! Trucks had sanded so driving OK and all pretty much gone with all day drizzle. Temps 32-34. Just so tiring! Patty- hope all went well. Nomless- yup take care of that PF. stay well!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Not to push any workouts at you nomless, but my kitties love tai chi and I always have at least one of them join in with me doing that. The only other thing they are attracted to are the barre routines - and that is really just one of them. I think what he really wants is for me to leave him alone with it so he can come up with a barre routine of his own. I'm pretty sure I don't want to see what that would look like!

I have a barre bootcamp routine to report in with, without accessories this time to make it more beneficial (harder). Need to figure out proper form for doing the pretzel before adding in the playground ball. Skipped yesterday after work and plan to do something tonight. Just don't know what yet.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hi guys. Been up since 4 with my ear throbbing...ay. Sure hope my son's isn't hurting this much, he has a 10-hour shift today so will be on his leg all day and his was much deeper and larger than mine.

canine...pretzel doesn't sound good to me.{#emotions_dlg.blink} I am trying to stretch more, I can see a slight improvement, but need to do a lot more. It was the only part of my eval at the gym in FF that I scored lower on.

nomless...glad your kitties are recovering from their trauma and your snow melted...lol. I have 2 fighting over me right now which led Lucy into a full-blown, lost-her-mind, attack, so she's on a time-out.

bopper and tony...this too, shall pass.Wink We haven't been much better the past two days...in the 40's with rain, after 70's, it felt really cold and damp. Today we're supposed to get to over 40* warmer than we are right now....up and down.

DH is in a golf tournament today, hope the wind dies down.

Yesterday...what did I do...lol. Oh...ran on treadmill, took Lucy for a run, and did biceps and calves(only things that weren't sore on me from Wed...ugh...that was just terrible). I shudder thinking about it. Like my gf said, "On a positive note, CF is making my runs seem very enjoyable"...lol.

Not sure if I'm going to CF this morning...or will just run and do some weights. See how my ear is doing in a couple of hours I guess, I'd sure hate to bang it on something...lol.{#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hi all, have been without power for 2 hours and then it came back and went out again. We got about 6-8 inches of heavy wet snow, and it's windy and that is bringing down the tree limbs so that's why the power is going out. I have big pine branches down in my yard and it's still windy. I tried to shovel my deck and it is like moving cement, so that is a workout in itself. DH said not to even try doing it, because it's that heavy. I went out in my bathrobe to brush off my bird feeders because the ports were all plugged with snow and the birds were almost eating out of my hands. After I was done I must have had 40-50 birds trying to feed. They were so hungry..then the poor Robins don't eat seeds, they eat raisins, grapes, and worms and bugs...I don't have anything for them. I hope somebody does.

Nomless glad kitties are doing good and everyone is once again happy!

Canine nice to see you. Logan loves this snow. I mean he truly is a winter dog. Lays in the banks like " Waz Up" LOL

Pppmint hoping your ear stops bothering you today and that DS's leg doesn't give him too much pain. Good luck to DH with his golf today too.

Tony I feel your pain! LOL

Waving to all before we lose power again!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Canine, I bet you have fun working out with your kitties, doing the nice gentle stuff! Shadow likes to lay on his back under me while I do pushups. It makes me laugh, and then I can't do them, LOL.

Patty, I hope your ear starts to feel better soon. You'd better take it easy until it heals some. Oh...just remembered...a couple of days ago I got on YouTube and watched some seniors doing CF. It was cool to see how exercises were tailored to their ability and limitations. Nice.

Bopper, losing power?? Oh, my. Spring snow can take a toll, it's so wet and heavy, as you know. Be careful shoveling and avoid trees. It's too bad the birds are hungry. I hope it melts soon.

TGIF for sure!

Hey, Future, you out there? Haven't seen you in a while.

Hi, Tony, I hope your snow is melting....your due for a nice weekend. Hope you get it!

I saw the informercial for Jillian's new program again.....have added it to my wish list.

OK....back to work. Off I go.....

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hi to all today!

Tony, so glad it's baseball season…good weather HAS TO follow!

Question to you ladies who takes Zumba classes… I took my second class ever yesterday. (The first one was a month or 2 ago, before my intercostal muscle strain that kept me out of the gym for a month! Same injury as Mets first baseman Lucas Duda in spring training that kept him out for at least 3 weeks…but I digress…) I consider myself fairly adept at following dance-type moves, and if not, just fake it til you make it, right? Well, this instructor was doing such complicated choreography, that I just totally checked out of one number. It was so deflating. It was no longer fun. My question is, how do any of you deal with such a situation?
