Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hey all, welcome Jodie and all our new comers...Nice to have a good group here. I am thinking about Fitbit too...maybe for my BD...have to research some.

Pppmint glad you didn't get hurt falling last night...wet leaves are slippery..never dull at your house LOL...your doing great also with the CF you don't miss a beat!

Nomless Coco will be so happy to be home and Shadow can have a buddy again. Glad it went good. We are always a wreck when our babies have to go and stay at the vets. I need to call the groomer for Logan..he hates when I brush him and the groomer does a de-shedding that really gets rid of his thick coat.

Canine it is quite dreary here and it's so dang cold...I'm just over it...it started early Nov. and it's still here...I mean 6 months of it....please help me now LOL

i woke up with a terrible headache. Actually started during the night so i got up at 4 am and took something. Feel better and managed a couple miles inclined on the treadmill. Don't want to push it so that' s all I did.

I was so excited for Opening Day yesterday too so watched my Tigers/Minnesota and we won and watching today again at 1 pm. DS is back to work with a lot of traveling.

I also watched the first half of the Badgers game but was too tired to watch it all. Sorry they lost as I was cheering for them. The certainly played as best they could.

Nomless I must say now "I'm thinking of deviled eggs too and I have enough eggs to make some" My sister raises chickens so I get fresh eggs all the time. Thankful for that too.

Have a good day all!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

I miss my kitty. I hope she's settled down at the vet's and has gone back to sleep, but I bet she's awake and trying to talk them into letting her get out of there.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hi, kids. I didn't get in a workout yesterday as planned because my poor little girl kitty needed attention. So did Shadow, for that matter. When I picked her up, they disconnected the IV and wrapped the area with a compression bandage to be sure it didn't bleed. I needed to leave in on for 45 minutes and then remove. Her poor little foot swelled up about twice as big as usual, so I removed it a little early .... and then called the vet to find out if I needed to be concerned about the swelling. They said no, and they were right. Her foot was OK this morning.

Next, I had to give her pain med due to the two extractions. Poor Coco has only a few teeth left. She eats hard kibble mostly; it will be hard for her to chew, but she'll probably figure it out because she loves her kibble.

Next, Shadow needed attention. He was all alone yesterday with Coco at the vet and me gone as well. He's not used to being alone, so he was thrilled when Coco came home. He ran up to her expectantly to welcome her home, but after her lousy day, she wasn't in the mood to socialize, so she hissed at him. Of course, that hurt his feelings and he didn't understand. "I didn't do anything." So I had to give him some loving to reassure him that no, he didn't do anything and Coco was just being touchy.

Next, feeding time. They didn't feed Coco anything due to the drugs and surgery, so she was hungry. I fed her and Shadow some wet canned food which she gobbled right up. She was hungry. Gave her more later in the evening.

She's supposed to be on soft food for 3-5 days and that will be a problem because the cats' main food source is hard kibble. I put water on it and let it soak to soften it, but no surprise, neither of them will touch what they perceive to be yucky soft kibble. So I fed them wet canned food twice this morning and will feed them a couple of times this evening when I get home, but they'll have nothing all day. I suppose it won't hurt them much to be on a restricted amount of food for a couple of days, but it sure makes me feel bad to withhold food.

I'm supposed to give her pain meds for 3 days, but oh, my, she hates it. They also recommended that I brush her teeth daily. LOL. I have no question that brushing would be a good thing, but I'm pretty sure it will be impossible to carry out. I guess I'll try in a couple of weeks after her mouth is healed. Who knows, maybe she'll like it. Or not.

I hope I can get a workout in tonight, but if my cats need my attention, I'll put it off another day.

I hope you all are having a good day. It's drizzly here, like yesterday, but my, things are getting trees and blossoms are popping out all over.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

nomless...quite the night, so hard when our babies aren't right. Good luck with brushing Coco's teeth...lol! I cut my cat's nails, bath, and comb them...no way will they let me brush their teeth. They both need a dental again.

tony...no, not yet. I keep saying "someday" things will slow down. We're foggy, misty, drizzly, dreary today...and dropped over 20*.

bopper...hope your headache is better, funny that I heard so many people say they had one yesterday. Lots of fronts moving in.

Had a really nice birthday lunch with my gf's yesterday. Didn't get my phone taken care of...stayed there too long. But it's working again so we'll see how long it lasts.

DS and I both have our Dermie surgeries tomorrow...my ear and his leg.

CF was so darn hard this morning, haven't felt that bad in a long time. It was a tough one but now I'm glad I did it(this morning I was just happy I survived it), I feel like I really accomplished something...my gf said the same thing. We had a lot of spring breakers visiting...it was packed.

Went to Marshall's and spent a lot of money, then went grocery shopping...came home and got on a cleaning jag. Love my new rug I got for the bathroom. Showered and doing laundry now, but I'm always doing laundry...lol.

Hope the cats are better tonight nomless! Waving to everyone!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Happy birthday, Patty! I hope the surgeries tomorrow are simple and uneventful. Best wishes.

Hi, Tony! Thanks for your input re: PF. I'm trying hard to let it heal well so that it doesn't become a chronic issue.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hi all, dreary day here too, but it's cold enough to snow. Tomorrow they said a wet accumulating snow , this girl isn't happy about it.

Pppmint good luck tomorrow and will say a prayer for DS too. Thanks, headache is better.

Nomless you are doing the right thing spending time with your babies. I can't focus on anything when Logan isn't feeling right. Just have to be with them. You'll get back to it. Poor kitties.

Tony that word as I said is still floating around here too. I've had it with Winter!

Jodi did you workout today?

Glad I grocery shopped today as I don't want to go out in the wet sloppy snow tomorrow.

Anyone watch The Voice? Good singers...We're hooked on it now!

Take care everyone!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hi, Bopper. I'm so sorry you're still getting snow....and you, too, Tony. Hang in there, guys.

Bopper, I haven't been watching The Voice. I know many love it.

Last night I did turn in to watch the start of RHONY. I watched the first few seasons, became less interested when the cast changed, and now I think I'm over RHONY. I watched about 10 minutes and was bored silly. Hurray! I can finally give it up. I hope. LOL.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

I did 40 min of cardio. I was happy to see when I got home tonight that much of the moistened kibble was eaten. One or both furkids decided it was better than nothing.
