 How do you see into the recent future?

STEPHEN HAWKING shot down that theory.

His body was weak, but his mind was genius.

Hi! @Carmie 🤗

Very interesting! I will definitely look him up!

Name sounds familiar though. Was he an author?

I did not make up weak body weak mind. 🥴

I receive emails from reputable health & wellness sites and this is what research is showing. Google it.

I was just wondering if anyone here has seen the connection that health professionals are saying to be a meaningful warning sign. 😔

I would want to see these studies from your "reputable" sites and newsletters, @RescueLover.

“Weak mind” is not a kind phrase to use.

When I was younger older people were often said to be senile, @bikerbabe.  That word seems to have disappeared.  I think saying demented does not seem kind.  No comment really expected, just a thought.

Another reason for people to think that people only have problems because they bring them on themselves by not drinking water, being physically fit etc.  Study, facts or not, it encourages discrimination toward people who are not perfect.

My husband is 84 still on top of things, mentally

He was recently told by his doctor that he is losing strength in his legs...which was a bit of a surprise as he works every day, sometimes it is a physical job.  The doctor suggested 1 lb weights on his legs when he rides the stationary bike.

He went to the Ortho doctor because of recent diagnosis of arthritis in his hip, but his knee hurts....DH asked for an xray but the doctor declined...I picked up a knee brace for him to wear, if that does not help, I think we will look for another doctor.

What is the harm in taking an x-ray?

@Mom2Dogs

Could the extra 1 pound of weight on his leg while he rides his stationary bike be causing the problem with your DH's knee?

Just a thought...

@DottieBlue    I don't think so....the doctor told him to use the weights when he was in the office last week, about his knee...that is when he was told he was losing strength in his legs and suggested the weights.

Today for the first time he used a knee brace all day at work.  DH is 84, which I understand is not young but the knee made him walk like he was much older...shuffling his feet, not standing up straight....which made me crazy.

He came home from work and said he had very little pain today and was walking better...very odd.

The ortho doctor said if the pain was from his knee down, the issue was his back...from the knee up it's his hip...although the doctor would not xray the knee to find out for sure if the issue is JUST his knee.

@Mom2Dogs

I am glad to hear that the knee brace is helping your DH.  That is puzzling why his doctor won't xray it.

Hope he gets better very soon.  Take care.
