I see where you’re coming from but

They actually measure muscle mass on individuals. 🤓

@RescueLover Yes well in the past things were measured and promoted as science and fact and they helped lead to people being treated less well because of their appearance.  It had no place then, it has no place today.  Statistics, "facts", don't define people.  Or shouldn't.

Stephen Hawking might have disagreed with that theory.

I understand you don’t believe there is a correlation.

That’s fine. I respect that but…

I’m not taking any chances that science may be right on this life changing issue. I’ll keep lifting my weights.

You never know it might save a lot of sadness down the road for some.

And by sadness I mean what friends and family go through with a loved one who’s suffering 😔

Don't know if you are speaking to me...
My comment was about your simple statement

Did not know that you are a mind reader and know what I understand... you are a piece of work

Many extremely healthy and fit people have many ailments young and old. Many are blessed ,stay healthy and keep their wits about them till 100.  Much is genetics and their environment.
The fact that you need that study to workout is feeble minded.

Didn't need a study to tell me that figured out very young.
Love getting excercise.

Curious have you ever met a strong man or woman with a weak mind?

Wow, I was surprised at the responses to your post @RescueLover . It seems some people take this personally. First off, I thought great, I workout all the time, one more positive thing about building and keeping muscle. There are always exceptions to everything but it cannot hurt building muscle mass. It's not like you are doing a dangerous thing. My muscle mass is evaluated every year, in fact, I go in Thursday to have the test done.

People stating they don't believe it or that the study is criticising a persons size are not researching this study. And remember, as a fitness instructor for many years, fitness can come in different shapes and sizes. I know some customers would be slightly over weight but had quite a bit of muscle and were fit. Others were very thin but had little muscle mass.

From Google:

"Studies have found that stronger muscles are associated with a slower rate of cognitive decline. "

I also have heard the following

"For the past decade or so, a growing number of studies have identified a link between childbirth and a woman's risk of dementia later in life. In most of the studies, women who have had children are less likely to be diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, or dementia, than are women who have not had children."
