Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hey everyone!

@hckynutjohn  Toby was so pretty!  I am very sorry he has left you!  It's so hard!!!

@Laura14  haha great job on your Yoga Marathon!

I did my first official spin workout on my new bike and picked a long one yikes.  54 minutes long.  I think I did pretty good although I had to decrease resistance and sit a few times.   I'll get there but have to go at a pace where I can feel it but yet am not exhausting myself.  Then had a nice stretch on my reformer!  I just came in from a snowy trail walk. The sun came out and it's super fluffy snow.

@Mmsfoxxie  very sorry about your husband but my son's whole family had it and like your husband said he's had worse colds... Praying this leaves and you don't get sick.    Yay on the vaccines though!

@DrKelli  glad you made it home and yes good thing to drive!  Flights being cancelled right and left.

Boy it sure is nice to see the sun!  Everything seems doable with sun.

Stay safe everyone!

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@Laura14 - you are my inspiration!  A 6 hour yoga sesion!  Adrienne would be so proud of you!  HAHA

@Mmsfoxxie - sorry about your husband but glad it is a mild case.  Thank goodness for vaccinations!

@DrKelli - glad to hear you and the doggies are home safe and sound.

@hckynutjohn - so sorry to hear about Toby.  It's so hard to lose one of our fur kids.

@bopper - you go girl!  54 minutes spin workout!  That's great!

Still raining and very cold here in the little city by the Bay.  But are ya'll sitting down - we had hail and its supposed to get cold enough for snow on our local mountains - I don't mean Tahoe - but our local mountains!  Thats really low elevation!  For it to hail here is pretty exciting because thats as close to snow as we'll ever get.  Kept thinking, "are pebbles hitting my windows?" then I realized it was hail.  Laugh as you want, hail to Californians is a big deal. HAHA

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@JudyL That's crazy! Congrats on your snow! 😂 We had severe thunderstorms overnight and a tornado watch. It's supposed to rain for a few days here so Noah and I will get the ark ready. Weather is nuts!

So since I was so exhausted from my yoga marathon yesterday 😂 I decided to switch it up. I am a day ahead with Adriene and she probably had enough of me so I did my first Halo class. I picked a cardio barre one since I've always wanted to try it. Loved it!

25 minutes of what I used to do in Power class with weights. She used dumbbells briefly for arms but most of it was lower body so I will probably feel this later. She used a chair for the barre but I found I could do most of them without any support but it was there if you wanted it. Felt good to do something different. I saved the next class for later AND I remembered to stop my tracker this morning. 😂

She stretched throughout and corrected and did everything I really appreciate in a great instructor. This is turning into a great purchase and experience for me.

Have a great Thursday all! I will be baking my last birthday cake and cookies tonight after work for my sister for tomorrow. They cancelled the Peach drop here to force people to stay home. They are dropping like flies with Covid all around me but nothing serious thank goodness. This variant seems mild but still nothing to play with.

@Mmsfoxxie Hope you both are still doing well.  Heart

Yoga! Yoga! Yoga! 😂😂😂

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning, all.

All is well as my husband goes through his mild Covid bout.  I still have no symptoms.  A big snowstorm is expected on New Year's Day and I really need to hit the grocery store.  Going by the new cdc guidelines, I should be able to run in there.  It's not like the dentist (cancelled that) where my mouth would be open.

@DrKelli, glad you're back.  I guess I missed your post saying you were leaving for a while.  (Probably forgot, lol).

I plan to do as workout this morning...don't know what yet.  Glad everyone is fine.

In case I don't pop in tomorrow.....Happy New Year!   🎉 🥳🍷

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning... Predicting some snow for us tomorrow. It would the first this season. How fitting on the last day of  2021.

I tweaked my back at the rec center on Tues so opted out of going yesterday. I lifted weights heavier than normal..  could have been it- or something simple as turning the wrong way too qyuckly.  I went today and did cardio only.

Walking  with my egg weights and  running a few errands was about all I did yesterday. As I walked I thought I really do need to incorporate some yoga into my life..Think I am going to look at Utube and see what I  might be  stick with..   even 15min of some kind of flexibilty. I'll let you know if follow through..

Happy New  Year almost... and we'll be posting on the new thread soon.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@violet runner - hope you don't mind if I make a suggestion re yoga on YouTube.  @Laura14 is the one who first mentioned Yoga by Adrienne on here and while I exercise in fits and bits, when I do yoga, I follow Adrienne.  She has TONS of videos so I'm sure you'd find something that you would like.  She's starting a program on January 1 called "Move."  January 1 is the intro and then the practices start on Jan 2.  I'm actually thinking of doing this one.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@violet runner  @JudyL I already have the calendar hanging on my refrigerator. None of the routines are more than 30 minutes and January is always a nice progressive month with rest days in between. Please join me!

@Laura14 - where did you get your calendar?  I went on her website and December is still up but not January.  I don't have a printer so can't print the calendar so write it down on my wall calendar, which works fine for me.  Anyway, this morning I went to put the January practices on my wall calendar and couldn't find it.

30 minute sessions are perfect.  Hoping to do them after work which should be easy for me since I'm still working from home.  Feed the cat, then do yoga.  Going to try and make that a habit in January.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@JudyL When you sign up, she emails it to you. Mine came yesterday I think? It will eventually be up on the site and the videos won't be live until 5am each day in January according to her notes. It's the only month where you can't skip ahead and have to follow day by day.
