Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Thank you for the well wishes. Don't get sick. It stinks.

I did go back to bed for the rest of the day yesterday and actually slept pretty well last night. I went to the grocery store and got some medicine, they were out of the lotion tissue which I really wanted, but I'm making due. Thankfully it's the weekend and no work.

I did blanket yoga this morning to take it easy and now I'm relaxing for the rest of the day.

I need to look up the weights. They sound interesting.

Stay well everyone and enjoy your Sunday.

Hi Everyone!

Yesterday my DD and I did a 2 mile walk.

@Laura14 I hope you feel better soon

@violet runner - hope the egg weights work out well for you.  No truer words spoken - workout equipment only works if we use it!

Take care and hope everyone stays well and safe.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Monday everyone.

I dragged myself to work hoping maybe I could sneak out early but everyone seems gung ho to have a solid workday which is unusual since we're half closed.  Just my luck but I did tell my boss I was sick all weekend and he beelined out of my office so here's hoping he'll leave me alone today.

I did Yoga for Mental Concentration and Focus. At the end, they wanted me to balance with tadasana and do crow. You would have been very entertained. Trying to do crow or just balance while on cold medication is a guaranteed comedy skit but I got through it.

Hope everyone has a great start to their week.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hi, everybody!

Well, I woke up with the intention of going to my fitness center but stomach wouldn't cooperate, lol.  So, while waiting on Mother Nature, I'll do a walk workout here at home.  Not sick just...you know.

keep me in your thoughts, guys.  One of my sons has taken on the responsibility of his 16 year old son after only having him a few days out of the year.  One of those accidents that happen with casually dating a woman while you're in the military, then she calls you with an oops story.  Now, after not raising him properly, she tells my son she can't handle him.  He's six feet five and doesn't listen to rules.  In school a week and they have already called that he cut a class.  My son isn't stern with him, trying to be his friend.  Thanks for listening.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hi everyone!  Can you believe it's only 3 weeks until Christmas and 4 weeks until 2022?!

@Mmsfoxxie I'm sorry to hear about your son.  He will have a challenge in front of him, but hopefully he learns quickly that his son doesn't need friends--he needs a parent.  Hope your tummy issues resolve quickly.

I taught LaBlast on Saturday and will do so again this week.  We had so much fun.  All holiday music!  I'm taking Groove tonight--hopefully all we will work on is the routine for the showcase!!

Not much else--I made my hotel reservations for my road trip and figured out where I need to stop to give the dogs a break.  I'm hoping that they will eventually settle down and sleep.  I'm bring their beds. I'm sure they will be looking out the windows a lot when we first start and then I hope they get bored and go to sleep.  They are pretty good in the car.

Finished my Christmas shopping (what little I did)--bought my nephew's kids some toys.  I usually buy books, but I don't know these kids at all.  He's a piece of work and I hope he doesn't come for Xmas.  I didn't buy him anything. He's the kind of person who shows up only to get gifts--doesn't bring anything for his mom or grandma.

Hope you all have a good day!!

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning.. Major drop in temperature.. no moisture, but definitely coat weather  today.  I don't normally go to the rec center on Mondays, but woke up early and decided no reason not to. Some cardio and weights.. a nice mix. Had errands to run- that's done. Now sipping a chai latte I made. If you know someone who loves lattes etc.. I got a frother for my birthday and it's been used just about every day since.  I  love going to coffee shops- esp.  stopping when biking.. This is close to them making it. And I see prices on the rise at most shops ( what isn't on the rise).

Plan to bundle up and take a walk soon and get out the leaf blower and clean the garage floor.  Why do leaves like to congregate there?

Yesterdays sunrise hike in the mts. netted me the most beautiful sky with the sun coming up. I am still  on high from enjoying it. Hike was terrific as always. Nothing much better than being with  friends in nature..

    Have a good day efveryone.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Monday Motivation Day!

I started with Kaleigh HIIT cycle workout using my stationery bike, HR got pretty high so had to tone it down, then did her 12 minute Oblique workout.  Onto some abs on the Pilates chair and a John Geary Intermediate workout for abs on the reformer with added arms.

Major blizzard here now, blew the driveway last night and it needs to be done again.   The roads are absolutely horrible.  My son drives a semi for a local food company and started at 3:30 this morning and said he won't get done until after 5 as the roads are so bad.

We had a terrible scare yesterday.  He and my oldest GD (16) had to drive 2 hours for her to take her drivers license final test.  On the way a guy in a truck pulled out in front of them or should I say blew a stop sign and they T Boned him.   Thank Jesus they were not hurt even though the air bags didn't come out.   They were in the town already and only going like 25 mph but he said they hit hard....I was a wreck when he called to tell me. I had the little one here with me and she's 5 so had to keep my crying under wraps.   Their car may be totaled but it was driveable back home on the snowy horrible roads.  Just very stressful.

@Mmsfoxxie I will definitely keep your son in my prayers that's a hard thing to have to take on.  We always want the best for our kids and when things like this happen we wish we could take it all away.

Not sure about my dog walk today the wind is fierce and I worry about branches falling on me.  We have a few down in the front yard now.

Keep pushing forward everyone through life and through your workouts.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@Mmsfoxxie - will keep your son and grandson in my thoughts.  Teenagers are not easy.  I do agree with @DrKelli that it sounds like your grandson needs/wants a parent that will set limits and rules.  He'll balk and rebel to begin with, but I sure learned the hard way with my DD - she was a challenging teenager and I was a single parent - that what she really needed/wanted was boundaries and for me to stick to them.  So much easier said than done but in hindsight, I wish I had been more diligent in that area.

@bopper - so very sorry to hear about your son and granddaughter!  Holy smokes, how scary!  So glad they weren't going any faster.  Take care with all your weather.

Here in the little city by the Bay, it is gray, foggy and, for us, oh so darn cold!

@bopper I am so glad your family is okay. Heart

@Mmsfoxxie Thinking of you. Heart Family is not easy sometimes.

On this Tuesday, I did Yoga for Courage. Extremely tired today but I need to go to work.

Prayers for everyone dealing with issues this holiday season. I hope it all gets smoother soon. Heart

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning everyone.  Thirteen degrees right now!  Tomorrow expected to be better.

Thanks for listening about my wacky family drama everyone.  @bopper , thank God your son and grandchild (I believe you said) are ok.  Is it me or does more stuff happen this time of year.

Going early to do grocery shopping and then to my fitness center which is on the way.  My eating has been pretty good but thinking about WW again, lol.  I'm going to peruse their sight and then see if I get a discount offer.  Companies always notice when you're checking them out.  I'd only join if I can do on site meetings.  Zoom was a failure last time.

Have a warm day.
