I think  blood work for elevated liver enzymes is the best indicator.

Clay colored stools, liver pain, yellowing of the eyes, blue lips, dark urine are some symptoms I recall.

I took it once and my stomach was on fire. So Tumeric is not for me. I'm cautious with supplements.

Did nothing for my arthritis but it did bother my stomach..  One less thing to pay for!

There is science behind it, not 'quackery'.

"What does the Mayo Clinic say about turmeric?"

AI Overview

The Mayo Clinic acknowledges turmeric's anti-inflammatory properties and its potential benefits for conditions like arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease. However, the Mayo Clinic also cautions about potential risks, including gastrointestinal upset, liver damage with high doses or long-term use, and potential interactions with medications. They emphasize the need for more research to confirm the extent of turmeric's benefits and recommend consulting with a healthcare professional before using turmeric supplements, especially if you have existing health conditions or are taking other medications

I took turmeric for awhile but quit.  Since my diet is naturally anti inflammatory and I take other antioxidants I didn't think turmeric was necessary anymore.

I cooked with it for a while, but I noticed that after I ate something that contained it, I always felt "bad" afterwards...

Can't pinpoint one particular thing, but just a feeling that my body was "rejecting" it.

Sooo, I'm done! :smileywink:
