I've seen a number of people here say they take turmeric. Even though it's a supplement, it not without possible danger. I also heard this on a TV news program last week.

I take it but not 'high doses' of it.

Tried it for my arthritic knee, did nothing for me but send me to the bathroom. 🙃
If you have liver issues, look into milk thistle. The liver is the only organ in the body that can regenerate itself.

I also read that in an article about a researcher at the National Institutes of Health and told my DH right away that we probably should not continue taking it:
"Dr. Dina Halegoua-DeMarzio, director of the Fatty Liver Center at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, noticed some of these complications firsthand through her work on the Drug Induced Liver Injury Network, which conducts research sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to improve understanding of the causes and outcomes of drug-induced liver injury in the United States.
“We saw a pattern of patients who were presenting with hepatocellular liver injury, which is an inflammation of the liver cells, due to turmeric, and there were a few things that really stood out,” says Dr. Halegoua-DeMarzio. “It seemed to be happening in patients where the turmeric was combined with black pepper in the supplements, as it resulted in a change in the way the body absorbs turmeric.” Pepper changes how the body processes turmeric, effectively increasing the dose of curcumin a person gets.
In other words, because pepper was combined with turmeric in these supplements, people could have had 20-fold more curcumin in the blood. “Although it’s not a perfect analogy, in some people, taking one pill of turmeric + pepper would be like taking 20 pills at once with turmeric alone,” says Dr. Halegoua-DeMarzio."
I had always read to be sure and get the Tumeric with the black pepper because it was the best, and usually bought the big Qunol bottle at Costco.
At 1500mg with the black pepper added it's a wonder our poor livers are still A OK (well, at least according to our last blood tests, knock on wood)

You shouldn't take if on blood thinners, either.

What are the symptoms of a poisoned liver? Other than the symptoms associated w/cirrhosis.

Yes, it acts as a blood thinner. I tried to tell my husband that, but what do I know? I told him it could be the reason behind all his big bruises. It could also be behind the blood spots on the sheets he has no idea about.

I take this same one but only 1 daily, I think one is 750 mg. I take it for my arthritic knee, but no miracle worker
