am a big fan of turmeric/curcumin that I was taking, especially in joint heath supplements. Really can tell a huge difference. However, being a breast survivor on tamoxifen, huge amounts of turmeric/curcumin interferes with its efficacy. A few hundred mg a day is ok just not in the thousands. Google tamox and turmeric for the studies.

I know 'therapeutic' can mean different things for different people but from what I've read about turmeric, it's most beneficial to take approx 1500mg of the extract (curcuminoid) form of turmeric b/c that is the most bioavailable form. Even when it's taken in that form, the gut quickly metabolizes it and much of it never makes it beyond the gut. So b/c of that it's better to take higher doses in order to get the most our body can get, which isn't really much b/c absorption makes it a problem. How much anyone's gut can absorb varies from person to person so 'therapeutic' amounts will vary also.
